That is true, but I think it also might have something to do with more playing time overall. And perhaps, after the almost-trade, Lou had a pep talk with him and helped restore his confidence. Nothing like the old "hey, we were going to trade you for nobody and pay half your remaining salary, but those jerks wanted us to pay 2/3rds so we told them to stick it" pep talk to restore confidence. :D Or maybe it was more like reading him the riot act: "Nobody wants you the way you're playing now, so if you want to be traded you need to start producing and establishing some value."
