    I think Moore is the one likely to go down, since Fox was the first one called up and at the time Lou mentioned that Fox was going to get a look for a couple of weekd. I don't think they would have added Fox to the 40-man roster and started the option clock if the intention was just to bring him up for a few days while Lee was on suspension.

    It's hard to come up with an accurate depth chart for the Cubs. There's no set starter at 2B (both Derosa and Fontenot get plenty of starts), and RF (Floyd and Derosa) and CF (Jones and Pagan) are in flux as well. It seems to me that Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, and Theriot are the only positions that are really set at the moment. Most people who post here know who gets playing time and where; I don't see a real point in trying to look at a set depth chart, because in any given game the lineup is probably going to depart from it at some position anyway.

    Lee's already on the roster (players serving suspensions are still on the roster). However, I think there's a chance the Cubs might send Moore or Fox down and bring somebody up (possibly Cedeno).

    I don't think LaTroy was a bust as much as he was misused by Dusty. He's supposed to be a setup man, not a closer, and when used in that role by Dusty he did well.

    I think it's worth mentioning that Henry Blanco started a rehabilitation assignment with Peoria. He went 1 for 1 plus a walk, scored a run, and had 2 RBI.

    It's not just a limited role. It's a limited role, plus going back to where he had so many years and was made out to be a scapegoat when he left. Why would he want to come back here? As was pointed out earlier in this thread, Sosa actually contacted the Cubs about returning back in the spring, but the Cubs weren't interested at that time. If he were willing to forget the past and return then, why wouldn't he now?

He'll be no more than a platoon player in Texas anyway. Don't you think he'd rather be a part-time player for a contender than for a bad team? I do.Not back in the town where he was made famous and where he left on awful terms and was made to be a scapegoat by the organization. I don't think he would want to come back if he was playing everyday. Time has a tendancy to heal wounds. He'd only be commited to play for the Cubs the rest of this year. If the experience is unpleasant he can always sign elsewhere for next year.

    90 wins?

    I think it's coming pretty close to time you can remove the question mark from doable for 90 wins. I disagree. The Cubs will go into a lull that keeps them from reaching it. Right now they're riding a prolonged hot streak that is keeping their stripes from being seen. That's possible, but I'm not saying they'll definitely win 90 anyway. I'm saying I don't think there's any question that it's doable, but that term refers to whether it can be done, not whether it will be done. And I don't think there's any question that the Cubs reasonably can win 90; the question is whether they will. It's possible that we're just debating semantics here.

    I reinstated Tracy to my lineup because he is playing this weekend. His injury apparently wasn't as bad as first thought, since he was said to be likely to miss the weekend according to Yahoo. This had no bearing on my scoring yesterday since both Tracy and Encarnacion put up big fat goose eggs.

    Check again. Four 20+ point starts and I'm up 50+. Of course, I'm down 3 or 4 starts to 1 the rest of the week. My offense has to come alive, and I've gotten nothing out of my relievers. Yeah, I opened my BIG FAT MOUTH!!! Now I'm down too. FREAKING GLAVINE!!!! Hopefully I can pull this week out. I'm only down 16 pts, but I'm running out of time. I need for that to continue. Otherwise I'll likely be three games out of the playoffs.

    Agreed. Unlike recent years there isn't an area that really sticks out to me as a must-address area. The Cubs have room to improve, as do all teams, but there isn't a single area that seems to me to be killing the team.
