  1. Matt Capps is their closer. Not while he's on the DL.
  2. With apologies to a certain 1970s rock band it's a Three Creature Night. :D
  3. My pitching is absolutely horrific this week. Double digit negative points for both my starts so far (Harang and Olson) and even K-Rod had double digit negative points today.
  4. ooh! ooh! lemme guess! one of those pitchers hasn't hurt himself in their game this week. maakmotaERRRRRRRRmark mulder was taken out of the game in the first inning against philadelphia. Mulder needs to just give up that guy is as bad as Prior and was never as good to begin with. Mulder was never good? He was very good in 2001-2003 (142 ERA+ in 2003), and had a pretty good 2005 as well. He's been hurt, yes. Saying he was never good to begin with is just a flat out lie. He didn't say Mulder was never good. He said he was never AS good as Prior.
  5. Wrong. The Cardinals weren't the best team in 2006. They were simply the team that got hot at the right time.
  6. The league's now officially full.
  7. Um, no. On the whole the rest of the country would like to see the Cubs win the Series again after exactly 100 years.
  8. Wow; hopefully this is a sign of progress and not one fluke start.
  9. I never liked Vanilla Coke (I always thought it had a bitter aftertaste). I did like Vanilla Pepsi, and I like regular Coke with vanilla syrup added.
  10. I definitely deserved that.
  11. maybe he wore 7 with the falcons? I just goofed. Hnestly I don't pay as much attention to uniform numbers (especially on other teams) as many people do.
  12. That was AramisFan.
  13. You are banned for one week for not knowing Jericho Jones. And another week for thinking Jocck was back with the Cubs but playing in rookie ball.
  14. That move to me was comparable to when Lieber came back out after the lengthy rain delay, and the end result may be the same.
  15. Ru roh. So does that mean that you're coming around to our way of thinking concerning his abuse? :D
  16. I think so too, but unfortunately I don't think the Cubs do.
  17. I sent PMs to texascub and CubbieBum (since they were the first to speak up for them) with the info to register. Unless one of them changes his mind that fills the league; I think 14 members is optimal for football, because you can have a complete round-robin with every team playing every other team once. I know there were more people interested in playing than spots open (most members from last year continued, so there were only two vacancies), so I definitely think it would be worth it for somebody else to step up and start a second league.
  18. There will be if somebody starts one; no reason you can't be that somebody yourself. I'm not sure who started the WindyCity league; that was a different league from the one I started.
  19. Or how about referring to Rich Hill as "Hill" and Rich Harden as "Harden?"
  20. No, but he was responsible for the Hundley trade. :D
  21. I know Nomar got one from 2004 so I think yes I think it is up to the players who gets a ring, I could be wrong though.I'm not sure whether the players or the management decide on the rings. I do know that the players vote on whether to give a traded player any share of the World Series prize money.
  22. Too bad the Cubs had to trade him, but you have to give value to get value. I'm optimistic about his future, but the move was definitely the tight move to make to increase chances of winning this year. Best wishes to him in Oakland; at least he won't regularly be pitching against the Cubs.
  23. This and the Cleveland game from that year still has to be the most unbelievable back to back stretch in NFL history. i still owe my cousin a crap in the pants for that game...i was telling him to change the channel while saying "i'll ish my pants if they come back to win this one." we all know how it played out....kinda fitting that it was a game against the browns. I WAS AT THE BROWNS GAME... TOP MOMENT IN MY LIFE!!! STILL!!! FIRST BEARS GAME AT SOLIDER FIELD. Had to have been much more pleasant than my first (and only) game at Soldier Field. It was my freshman year in high school (1974) and I was in the high school band. We played in the stands at a game against the 49ers as a last-minute replacement (less than a week's notice) for a band that backed out. The weather was terrible (cold, windy, and rainy) and the Bears were getting blown out. We wound up leaving right after halftime when we were done playing.
  24. I wouldn't this year. Reportedly, one of the factors influencing his decision to join the Cubs was that he WOULDN'T have to play CF. Let him get a full season of MLB experience under his belt first before considering moving him to a position he doesn't want to play.
  25. Between 1:10 and 7:05. Cubs aren't in that window. You'll get the game. According to the directv extra innings schedule, the game will be shown on channel 696. Unfortunately, channel 696 isn't actually part of the Extra Innings package (even though it shows up as such on DirecTV's schedule). That's CSN, and that is always blacked out outside the Chicago area. The Extra Innings channels are in the 700s. No telecast Saturday outside the Chicago area.
