At some point this year I'll have the same issue with Schierholz (especially now that he's getting more playing time), but he isn't a stud prospect that I'd feel bad about dropping if I don't want to promote him.

Only a few years, and two are already out of baseball. Prior isn't out of baseball yet, although it seems like he is. -
Cubs suck, that results in a good outing for me from Jackson, and Kevin Gregg blows. That about sums it up so far.

No, you're wrong. What was allowed in the past was to drop a player and add a replacement. He said that it's OK to replace a player midweek but the player is then out for the rest of the week. The same person, in a follow-up post, said that it's OK to remove a player due to suckiness. Guess who it was that made these posts. :D

I dropped McGee, so that takes care of that issue for me. He's out all year recovering from TJS anyway. As far as replacing players midweek, we've always allowed replacing a player that's been benched by his major league team. It may not state so in the rules, but it's always been an allowed exception (much like allowing Adam to carry Sheets on his DL). I don't think it's fair to change that mid-season when it's always been allowed in the past. What's needed is clarification about whether the replacement has to be someone already on your roster or if it can be a free agent. Clarifying rules as necessary is fine; changing them mid-season isn't.

Not true. Rule 5 players can be traded, but then the new team would have the same obligation to keep him on the major league roster all year or offer him back to the original team. I don't think Patton went through waivers when the Cubs traded for him, and Josh Hamilton didn't go through waivers when the Cubs traded him. -

I may try to catch a round next time it's at Pinehurst (I believe that's 2014). I only live an hour or so from there.

no. rather vehemently, this idea was rejected a couple weeks ago. I thought the objection was to picking up a free agent and putting him in the lineup midweek. I don't recall any objections to replacing a benched major leaguer with a player already on your roster, which is what I think Shane was asking about.

I thought you could pick up players who were already in the system, but if Juan says I'm wrong I have no problem with dropping him.

I doubt it. If that were the case I don't think they would have said something like non-baseball related medical issue, which might concern some people. I think they'd say something harmless like tired arm. -

I think Riggleman was the best Cubs manager in recent memory. He got a raw deal. -
I did a couple times during the offseason but wised up before this past offseason. Trading it during the season (as I did to get Miggy) is different if I'm in contention.

I'm rooting for you. :D That's not nice! :) He may be in good shape as I look to not have a start from AJB (suspension) this week and Halladay may not pitch due to his groin problem. Top that with Bedard's out of nowhere shoulder issue and I could be in trouble for a couple weeks. Burnett's suspension appeal has been delayed, I believe I read until June 30. You should have him this week.

One Bears, three IU basketball. The Colts are my second favorite NFL team, so if their Super Bowl win were over anybody but the Bears I would have counted that too.
