  1. I would say they do it because they need the money but this is ND they don't need money. Purdue has one like last year. Couple real good teams, handful of bad teams, and handful of awful teams. Cal State Nothridge (127) South Dakota St (283) Central Michigan (297) Wake Forest (16) Buffalo (89) Valparaiso (260) @ Alabama (108) Ball State (262) SIU-Edwardsville (???) West Virginia (21) Also in Paradise Jam we will play winner of Boston College (60) and Saint Joseph's (105) assuming we beat South Dakota St. Then likely Tennessee (25) in the championship. So that's three top 25 and another two top 100.
  2. I was surprised to learn today that Gore has as many 60+ yard runs than anyone since his breakout year. He's got 5 which tie him with AP.
  3. I knew they would get it together right before they play the 49ers. I told my brother that in week 2.
  4. No Sunday night football sucks.
  5. Dew scored 130 and is likely going to lose to me :yahoo:
  6. I'm looking forward to the sports anchor Brett Favre pee-pee slurping contest that will be going on all week. Who wins it this week?
  7. Niners lead 14-9 at halftime. Too bad I'm so hungover that any movement makes me nauseous.
  8. Aaron Brooks looking like a MIP candidate early. Came into tonight averaging 18.5 pts 8.5 assists. He's got 25 and 8 so far tonight with a minute and change to go. BTW pretty sure I just saw Juwan Howard on the bench for Portland. Though that guy retired two years ago.
  9. I think Shaq will continue to ignore anyone who tells him he is out of shape and deny that he is even though it's obvious. I'm still waiting on his Cleveland nickname.
  10. I know a certain Saints/Purdue QB who had 83 attempts and 55 completions against Wisconsin in his first season as a starter. Both were records at the time but I think they have since been broken.
  11. Hey bub, The Logan is probably insulted that you would call me Logan.
  12. He had 8 in barely a half-season entering this game and has 13 now. That's quite a few interceptions. Andy, don't try to talk football CubbieBum. It's like trying to make a pig sing. or a wolverine If you're going to insult someone at least write the post correctly. Oh and Andy would know about talking football with me more than anyone else on this board.
  13. Must not know Indiana football fans. They tend to not care.
  14. Not that it was a ridiculous thing to post at the time, but... I'd still be nervous of him though if I was a Iowa fan. The guy throws INT's left and right all over. Game still not over yet. I am hoping for a Iowa victory though, becuase the wife's family is from Iowa. He threw all of what 9 last year. Stop extremely over exaggerating. He's not a very good QB but coming into this game he wasn't an interception machine either.
  15. Here's the Indiana I know.
  16. On another note I'm very please with what I have seen from my Rockets this season. Brooks is the real deal, Ariza has proved he can do more than hit open threes when Kobe gets doubled (wasn't high on him when he got signed), Chase Budinger looks like the next Mike Miller and Landry is averaging 9.5 pts and 5.5 rebounds off the bench despite playing poorly in both games. Landry really has a shot at 6th man this year.
  17. Most underrated team of the offseason. No one talked about it but Marion is a huge pickup and changes their whole team. They finally have a perimeter defender who can do something to limit the Kobe's, Lebron's ... etc. They have all their offense and while their overall defense will still be subpar they at least have that go to defender. He will also help their rebounding. I really think the Mavs will challenge for the No. 1 seed.
  18. Not a good day to be a fan of the Old Gold and Black. I'm rooting for Iowa against Indiana but I think it is safe to say they are not a top 5 and probably not a top 10 team whether they pull this one out or not.
  19. Read in the Purdue Blue Ribbon preview that LewJack is actually 5'7", 5'8" with shoes. The shocking part however was that he dunked for the first time when he was 5'2". I would like to see what his vert is.
  20. Rookies, sheesh.
  21. I'm happy you guys are ranked. 6 of 11 teams are ranked. Sweet.
  22. The polls are always going to be inaccurate. You never know what teams will fall apart and which teams come out of no where. You'd be a lot better off in all sports betting on teams with experience and players you have a good idea what they can do than inexperienced teams with a bunch of unknowns. Kentucky and Texas may prove to be top 5 but they should have to prove it first. Maybe their freshman pan out and maybe they don't.
  23. Oh so Texas returned just about everyone? So did half a dozen teams who fared better last year than Texas. Oh and if Purdue makes the Final Four in Indy I might have to drop a crap load of money and get a ticket. At the very least I think I would fly home and stay in Indy for the Final Four. So what if teams return everyone? Why do you ignore teams adding talented players? Because Purdue isn't. No, because I have always taken the stance that until freshman prove they can play they shouldn't be used as THE reason to bump somebody way up into the top 5. A top recruiting class should help you in the polls a little but they should never be used as the reason you leap frog over teams that return just about everyone from a team that already competed with top teams the year before. One team you know is capable of playing at that level based on the year before. The other team is a big ? that you have a strong reason to believe will be much better. And by saying teams that return everyone I'm talking about more than just Purdue. I would say Purdue is in the range they should be. In my opinion they should be ranked between 5-7 and they are. Purdue has one big question mark and that is who backs up Johnson. That issue costs them top 5 and rightfully so.
  24. I would but I have to cover football on Fridays.
  25. As for Texas they are pretty much bringing most everyone back outside of Abrams, had maybe the 2nd best class behind Kentucky (Jordas Hamilton and Avery Bradley) and a transfer of Jai Lucas from U of Florida. Damion James and Dexter Pittman should be very good this season too. IIRC, the thing about Texas is they didn't have a trustworthy PG last year. That (and Abrams not being quite the player they expected) really hurt them. The addition of Bradley alone will improve the Horns dramatically. Oh so Texas returned just about everyone? So did half a dozen teams who fared better last year than Texas. Oh and if Purdue makes the Final Four in Indy I might have to drop a crap load of money and get a ticket. At the very least I think I would fly home and stay in Indy for the Final Four.
