A tendency to throw a few picks, even if you characterize it as not to a detrimental point, doesn't really compare well with McNabb. Isn't he one of the least picked off QBs ever? I wouldn't think so. McNabb throws about 6-13 picks a year and usually has about a 2:1 or a little better TD:INT ratio. 6-13 picks isn't a lot by any means. His ratio isn't as great as some of the others because he normally has 23-27 TD's but he rarely throws picks. He was somewhat inaccurate early in his career so the Locker comparisons are pretty good. I think McNabb took six seasons to have a completion percentage over 60.

Bradford seems like the QB who will fall once the Combine and workouts start. He doesn't have that great of an arm, won't have much of a senior season and will have health issues. I think going into the workouts people will be looking for him to be overly impressive and simply doesn't have the cannon arm.

If they think throwing in the towel is putting in VY then they really are stupid and should be fired. The fact of the matter is practically nothing is working and in trying to salvage the season you need to obviously change something and VY is the most logical choice. You won with him before let him try again. Not changing is just plain dumb. They are perhaps screwing over their future with VY and if I was the owner I would probably be stepping in.

I don't fully disagree. I don't think Orton was the right QB for Chicago. I do think you are giving Cutler way too much credit at this point. He hasn't been that great so far. He has a been a good QB nothing more nothing less. He has thrown a lot of TD's but he has also thrown a lot of INT's and at the worst times. Oh and the Bears were 9-6 with Orton last year so the Bears probably would have a winning record with him. However like I said Cutler is a better fit for Chicago and he will likely play a little more consistent as the season goes on. Anyways the point I made earlier wasn't whether or not the trade was good. It was good for both sides. It was about the constant putting down of Orton and saying he sucks even though its obvious he doesn't.

Don't need to. I already saw his throw last year to "beat" Atlanta. Yeah cause only bad QB's can have a bad throw. I was referring to his TD throw that gave us the lead with 11 seconds left. I've always been a supporter of Kyle's for the most part. My bad then. I just assumed it was another Bears fan post ragging on him simply because he used to be a Bear and if he does well it makes the Cutler deal look bad so they have an delusional hatred for Orton ... etc.

In a not surprising at all news item Donovan won the Honda Award for the 6th time, the most of anyone. Just makes me more excited to see what he does in the WC. See if he can truly become one of the best players in the world.

God. When do the Packers have to play an actual football team? Wait. Don't they essentially play the same teams the Bears do? All the same except for the Bears getting Philly and Atlanta while GB gets Dallas and TB. Philly and Dallas are pretty equal, but when it comes to Atlanta and TB, that is automatically one more loss for the Bears and one more win for GB. Then throw in the fact that most of the tough teams GB does play are at Lambeau. Oh well, assuming Minnesota takes the division, its not really going to matter which of the Bears or Packers get the WC, because neither will go anywhere in the playoffs. You don't think the Bears can beat Atlanta?

Singletary has been gushing about him as much as he will gush about anyone. He's been saying that he has been very impressive and is great shape. Singletary could watch someone run for 300 yards and would still say he made some mistakes. I'll definitely be interested in seeing what he can do. But most of all, I can't wait for Crabtree to surpass Darrius Heyward-Bey's season total for catches (2) in the first half. I'm trying not to get too excited but everything I've been reading is he has been dominant. I've read that he is faster than expected, runs very crisp routes and is freak athlete. If all that turns out ot be true there's not much that can be done to stop him and it gives the 49ers a much better offense. BTW Crabtree and Nate Davis supposedly got along very well at OTA's and the rookie photo shoot. I can't remember where I read it but Crabtree was quoted as saying he really likes how Davis throws the ball and thinks he will turn into a great QB.

I agree 100%, Cutler and it's not even close, Orton success is due to those many other factors previously mentioned. I have noticed he's making some fantastic throws, threading the needle, just fractions from being intercepted. I don't know if his accuracy has improved that much or he's been a little lucky. I would go with he has improved. Last year was his first season starting since being a rookie. He has never had a fully year of starting without having to worry about being pulled. His confidence is up and so his play. He also has improved his accuracy each year and with an improvement of receivers added to that you get a QB who will be playing a lot better than previously.

Interesting question ... where would you rank Carson Palmer among QB's in the league in terms of skill now? To me he is no where near the top 10. He only ever had two great seasons with another pretty good one. He did bad in his time last year and is doing bad this year despite still having a great receiving core and this year a great run game. I really don't think he is a good QB anymore. Doesn't mean it can't change as he is still somewhat young with a good arm but he just isn't doing well.

Okay, maybe. But if you had to choose one, who would you choose? I can't believe I'm even saying this because of how pissed I was that the Bears were able to get a franchise QB, but it depends on the situation. The Bears defense looks solid but not great. They have a poor o-line, no running game and WR's who had done nothing prior to the year. They need Cutler or they don't have much. The Broncos thus far have a great defense, a great o-line, good running game and solid weapons in the passing game. They can win with above-average QB play that minimizes mistakes. I honestly think Orton is a better fit for that team as long as the other factors remain. That sums it up well.

Okay, maybe. But if you had to choose one, who would you choose? For the future I would take Cutler although it is a lot closer than many believed it was at the start of the season. Anyways that is not what Gruden was saying. He was merely responding to MT's comment that Orton was put down as a QB when he was traded, "a guy who couldn't win the job in Chicago." Also doesn't Cutler have 3 or 4 INT's in the red zone this year. I remember hearing that during the game last night.

Matt Ryan (really under the radar) and Eli should be up there. I don't think Orton will/should win but he's probably top 10 at this point. AP isn't high on my list as of now, but he's AP, so that could change. Well you should take a look at his stats. He isn't getting the attention he deserves because of Favre. He leads the league in rushing averaging more than 100 yards a game and has 7 TD's. He's on pace for 1,664 yards and 19 TD's plus a career high in receptions. As far as Eli and Ryan go both are having good seasons but not MVP seasons. Eli is barely completing 60% of his passes and Ryan is 18th in yards and 10th in TD's.

Pedro had a lower WHIP in the 2000's than the 1990's. Never would have guessed that. The other one that I like for a future trivia question is the who had the most quality starts of the 2000's. No one would guess Javier Vazquez.

Yeah the way it was said was dumb. I think he was meaning more that he would rather have a guy who manages the game than a guy who gun slings it everywhere and has a lot of turnovers (as well as big plays). I would agree with that point.
