  1. Would it be a biased pick or do you like Purdue less than Kentucky, Kansas and all the other possible 1 seeds?
  2. There isn't any that I have heard of, at least nothing official. I haven't looked real hard though as he will not be coming back this season so my interest to scour for news is limited. If he had a chance to come back this season I would be searching for stuff to get an idea of the date he would be coming back.
  3. I think we have a 99% chance for a #1 even if we lose one more whether that is in regular season or conference tournament. Two of Villanova, West Virginia and Syracuse must lose at least one more and either K-State or Kansas must lose one more. That leaves only Duke and Kentucky with no conference opponent in the top 8. So if those two win out, one of the Big East teams wins out and Kansas wins out Purdue may not get a #1 seed with one more loss. However, even then I would say Purdue would have a decent shot at getting a #1 seed especially if the Big East team is West Virginia. I think the domination of West Virginia and wins over a bunch of ranked teams (including teams in ACC, Big East and Big XII) would go a long way.
  4. I saw that. The only thing I noticed at a quick glance was the loss to Michigan and I was like, wait, we haven't even played them yet. Also, that traveling call on Iverson when he got under cut was amazingly BS. They must've all been wrong. They showed Illinois' profile earlier in the game, immediately after talking about Purdue beating Illinois to start their win streak. Illinois' profile showed beating Purdue as a key victory. Did they use last year's stuff as key wins for this year? I didn't see any of it but it sounds like they may have.
  5. One thing I do like on the trade though is we have a lot of height mismatches. Martin is 6'7" and a SG, Ariza is a lanky 6'9" SF and Yao is 7'6".
  6. I guess I'm not explaining but rather assuming you know the original Knicks trade for T-Mac. Let me explain what I am meaning. The original Knicks trade for T-Mac that we were rumored to be very close to doing (we were arguing about how high/low the picks would be protected) was T-Mac to the Knicks for Jeffries, Hill, Hughes and the two first round picks in 2011 and 2012. If you look at the trade that ended up happening that is essentially what we got. I am assuming we got Sacramento involved at first to get the Knicks to cave on the protection, which they indeed did. However, the picks and players from Knicks in the final trade is almost exactly what we would have gotten if we just did two separate trades one sending T-Mac to the Knicks and the other sending Landry to Sacramento. This is why I said the trade was essentially Landry for Martin.
  7. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: So we got the original Knicks trade for T-Mac. Making it a 3-way basically means we traded Landry for Martin. Really don't like that and not just because I am biased towards Landry. Just at a quick glance it is obvious to me that it's not a good swap. Landry is a lot more efficient and costs a heck of a lot less. Basically we have up a more efficient player who fits our team for a player who is less efficient and costs a lot more. It only gets worse we you dig deeper. Martin is shooting under 40% and needs to dominate the ball to score. That basically means he and Brooks can't be on the court at the same time because both need to have the ball to be productive. Brooks excels on offense because he drives with speed and dishes if help comes over. So not only did we trade for a much less efficient player who costs more but he also doesn't fit our team well. We are also now thin at PF and our starter still doesn't match with Yao. They both are post scorers who both score by have some savvy post moves. This is why Scola disappears when Yao is in. Yao gets to post up and Scola doesn't have a very good jumper. Would you stop talking about how inefficient Kevin Martin is? He's been an extremely efficient player every year until this one where he's been battling injuries. Why can't Brooks drive and dish to Martin spotting up from 3 which he's great at? You completely ignored that Morey will be moving up in the 2011 draft and got a 1st rounder in 2012. There's also the possibility that they can make something out of a guy who was a lottery pick 8 months ago. The Rockets weren't going anywhere this year. It makes them a better team next year and beyond. Pretty much every basketball guy I've seen completely disagrees with you. I didn't ignore that. I said right at the top they did the original trade with the Knicks for T-Mac. This 3-team trade was essentially two seperate trades as the Knicks got T-Mac and the Rockets got the same stuff they were rumored to be getting earlier in the week when it was just a two team trade. It is the Landry for Martin part that I don't like. I would rather have Landry at his cheap price than Martin for 3 years and $36 million. Sure Martin is a great 3-pt shooter when open but that is Ariza's best ability offensively. A lineup of Brooks-Martin-Ariza-Scola-Yao for next season looks great on paper but when you look at the way they all need to play to be effective it doesn't look like it will work. Scola and Yao are both similar players offensively in that they need to get deep in the post and then use moves to get a shot. When Yao is on the court Scola disappears offensively. Martin is a mix between Brooks and Ariza. If Martin has the ball in hands he can create shots but that takes Brooks out of it and if he is a spot up 3-pt shooter that takes Ariza out of it. The lineup looks great on paper and I hope it turns out to be great but I'm not seeing it. I was very surprised to see how high Martin's true shooting percentage was. Maybe with talent around him he can get back to what he was a year or two ago but then again the injuries may make it so he never gets back.

  9. He can't control the fact that he's the missing link on the evolutionary scale. That was a very satisfying win. Needed it badly, and Texas came unglued which made it all the more satisfying. Can someone explain? I meant JT Tiller, not Joe Tiller. TT just knew who I was talking about. Ah. I was trying to figure out why he would be at that game and what was wrong with his head. I can sleep now.

  11. Whew, held on for the win. Big win as it puts in the best position to win the Big Ten. We beat Michigan State at home and I think we are good even with having a fourth loss (@ Minnesota?) because Michigan State should be Ohio State at home.
  12. Did that in the first go round too. That's the game Hummel had 29 in the first half. Not confident in this game even though we are up double-digits.
  13. In terms of endowment they are No. 1 in the country. That is according to wikipedia which lists the official PDF as the source and has a link to the official document. michigan is nowhere close to having the largest endowment of any american university. I am basing it on this not sure what the guidelines are for the National Association of College and University Business Affairs. In looking at more than just a quick glance at 2009 MIT in every year that their number was listed had a bigger endowment.
  14. Google Adsense
  15. That exact joke was already made in this thread and for the record I made money on the site so I laugh when someone makes fun of something I did and made money on.
  16. Agreed on both accounts. I see them getting upset as they never play to their full potential and understandably so seem to play too cocky and full of themselves (like top freshman do a lot).
  17. I wonder who will be Scully's new partner. Thank you. Thank you. I'm just too funny.
  18. I don't mind them, but Barlow's a punk, and Kramer is a flopping, foul on every play Duke wannabe. i root for every big ten that has more final four appearances than iowa. Creative. I haven't heard that one for a whole page.
  19. 2-3 years ago maybe. His injuries have taken a lot of his athleticism.
  20. Oh yeah, forgot about Josh Smith. I'm not a huge Nate fan. As was already mentioned, I think it takes a lot away from the dunk when it takes more than two times to do it. I think those 3 and a rookie (I really like the dunk-in thing) would be nice. Agreed on Nate. IMO, Robinson might be the worst dunk contest winner in the history of the even. Heck, even Brent Barry is a more credible dunk contest winner than Nate. UHH no
  21. For the 49ers I expect a relatively quite offseason. No huge holes that can be filled in FA. I don't think we will go after a QB. Smith is showing promise and the coaching staff supposedly still likes Nate Davis a lot. We may get a OLB but I doubt it would be a big name. Porter is possible but I don't see it but he is the only foreseeable big name we go after. I think the team will just want to resign most of the players and allow our roster to age because we have a lot of young talent and with two first round picks we should be able to get players who can fill our remaining holes. I would really like to see us resign Barry Sims so he can be a versatile backup as he filled in very well when Staley went down.
  22. LB? Did you mean OL or is that an abbreviation I'm not familiar with? I meant OG. I was talking to a co-worker about Karlos Dansby while typing. At least you weren't watching football while typing.
  23. In terms of endowment they are No. 1 in the country. That is according to wikipedia which lists the official PDF as the source and has a link to the official document. In terms of academic reputation and prestige Northwestern I would say is easily the best. I wasn't arguing with you I was pretty sure you weren't I was just clarifying.
  24. I don't mind them, but Barlow's a punk, and Kramer is a flopping, foul on every play Duke wannabe. I can understand the Kramer hate. I always say that Kramer is the type of player you love to have on your team and loathe if he is not. As far as I go. I root for every Big Ten team in non-conference and tourney games except IU. I can never root for them.
  25. Don't have time for it. Need to get it off my sig. Just as soon as you free up your schedule. ? Come on man. They've been blasting you with sarcasm since the start. Either you're playing along, or you're completely oblivous. Please tell me you're playing along. I know its mostly sarcasm I am just blasting it back. Got to have the last word.
