  1. It's absolutely not debatable because it makes no freaking sense. :rotfl: That made me laugh and I agree. Not sure what he is talking about. All I can think of is the difference in yards and first downs. If Minnesota wanted to win all they had to do is hold on to the effing ball and make good hand offs. Pretty fundamental football.
  2. if what i heard is correct, the teams are making players leave at halftime and fly home to n.o./indy, so they can fly back to miami with their teams. if true, then the teams are just as stupid as the nfl. Makes one wonder if they really thought about this before they moved the game. I had a problem with the move from the beginning. It revolved around the fact that the players who are voted to the Pro Bowl but make the Super bowl are punished for getting to the championship game by not having a choice to play in the game or not. This new stuff is on a whole new level and is just absurd. They need to be preparing for the Superbowl not going to Miami for a game they can't play in. I'm not following why guys can opt to not play in the game except those who are on a team in the Super bowl.
  3. I'd settle for Harrison but I doubt he shows up as he as shown his true selfish colors and seems no longer involved in the franchise whatsoever. I thought losing Harrison was going to irrevocably damage the Colts to the point they weren't going to be good this year? Because it was foreseeable that two no name WR's would turn out to be pretty damn good? Without them it would have been a big loss as the passing game would be much easier to defend.
  4. Really? I'd prefer he goes after Peyton but as a consolation prize I would be happy with Harrison (as in Marvin). Never liked the guy and everything over the last year or so has only made me dislike the guy more. Most recent prominent players who have retired show up for a teams Superbowl. Edge was at the last game and will no doubt be in his backyard of Miami for the Super bowl. I doubt Marvin shows up but if he does I wouldn't mind OMC going after him. Maybe it's because I've had some drinks tonight but I don't see where my first post was confusing or hard to follow.

  6. I can see your dilemma. Almost any other city it would be a no brainer to go. However getting to go out and celebrate a Superbowl win (if they win) on Bourbon Street with all the other fanatics may be better.
  7. More like 2-0. More like 1-0. 2-0 is the lowest possible score. It also means a defensive play is the only score which I assume the whole 3-0 thing was a joke due to the best two offenses are in the Superbowl.
  8. I'll go with Jean Claude he was Belgium's kick boxing champ or something like that before doing movies (I'll refrain from saying acting).
  9. More like 2-0.
  10. That's a good question. Normally we try and tie in the cities involved for the menu. Obviously in this case you'd have to go all New Orleans, because Indy offers nothing. I need to get on that menu. i really want to do something different than just the usual steaks and wings. Gumbo sounds good, but I've never made it before. Queso with spicy sausage mixed in. Maybe I'll try some Crawfish Etouffee... Crawfish is out season. You can't get it anywhere around here. Any place that has crawfish right now has bought it months ago and kept it frozen. This is something I never knew till I got down here. I guess any credible place in New Orleans refuses to sell it except when it is in season.
  11. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
  12. Well here in the city all the hotels are calling it the start of Mardi Gras season and all the stands that have been set up say Mardi Gras on it. So Mardi Gras has started already then? Not till the first parade on the 30th but that is what I have been told starts the Mardi Gras season.

  14. Bourbon Street would be scary if the Saints win. Has Mardi Gras begun yet? it starts the Sunday after the Super Bowl and Drew Brees is the King of Bacchus for the parade this year....hmmm. Technically starts on the 31st What? No it doesn't. http://www.mardigrasneworleans.com/schedule.html First parade is on the 30th.
  15. Bourbon Street would be scary if the Saints win. Has Mardi Gras begun yet? it starts the Sunday after the Super Bowl and Drew Brees is the King of Bacchus for the parade this year....hmmm. Technically starts on the 31st I thought but yeah the real week when everyone comes in is the week after. I already got Sunday the 14th off for Bacchus. My roommate and I are getting dressed up in Purdue gear, making Purdue signs, and buying a boombox that will play Hail Purdue over and over. We are then going to follow his float. We are sooo cool.
  16. Saints better win and I better have the day off. Last night was absolutely crazy.
  17. LeBron is a Top 10 assist guy in the league, taking the ball out of his hands more for a point guard would make them less efficient. As for their offense, it might seem that way because of LeBron's involvement(which is absolutely what they should do given his talents), but there is definitely some sophistication. Here's an example: Link Yep. You either double team LeBron and he finds the open man or you don't and he gets to the rim. Both are high percentage. That philosophy has problems when you run into a team that has multiple good perimeter defenders. One limits LeBron (not completely stoppable) and the other defends the other perimeter guys who LeBron likes to hit when he gets doubled. This is why I think the Lakers in a series beat Cleveland unless LeBron is on every game. Kobe/Artest (or Ariza last year) are both great perimeter defenders. If I recall LeBron also sturggles a lot with Houston because they have had Battier for awhile now and normally have another good perimeter defender (plus Yao around the rim).
  18. In on the first page ... success!
  19. He's 38 and still getting deals to play in the minors. I would say his career can fittingly be called Die Hard.
  20. So let me get this straight ... because MJ retired you are saying the Bulls decided not to try and replace Horace Grant? If anything MJ retiring would make them want to replace Horace Grant even more because they knew they would be hurting. Probably not with the same sense of urgency since they didn't think they would have Jordan to compete for the title. This shouldn't be that hard to understand. You had a nice two year run because Jordan retired for, gasp, two years. Must have been a coincidence. He didn't retire for 2 years. He retired for 1 1/2. This is the root of the whole problem. Bulls fans want to ignore Jordan did come back and DID dominate in the playoffs. Your Grant comment still makes no sense. They made the playoffs and were still trying to win. Losing a guy who just average 15 and 11 means you would try to replace. Your theory is the Bulls lost Jordan, made the playoffs next year and then decided to just throw in the towel because they had no chance. We still had no power forward to speak of, Kukoc was playing it. Once we knew Jordan was back we went out and got Rodman and started teabaggin people. 16 pts, 5 rebounds and 5 assists is not good? Kukoc was a good PF and is a player most people know of. What you didn't have is rebounding. Will Perdue and Luc Longley blew chunks and while Kukoc was very good he wasn't a rebounder. Again it seems very doubtful to me that the Bulls decided to not sign anyone to replace Grant because of Jordan retiring a full year before. They still tried to win when Jordan was out which is why they made the playoffs. It seems much more likely they thought they had a replacement already in house and after two years of no rebounding, the second with Jordan back and dominating in the playoffs, they realized that to win they need a strong rebounder. They found the perfect one in Rodman because he was the best at rebounding and didn't care to score allowing Jordan, Pippen and Kukoc to handle it.
  21. Well Purdue has all but shot themselves in the foot when it comes to winning the regular season title. Three losses and still have to go to Illinois, play MSU twice and all that. Anyways what I was really wanting to post is I am pretty sure Moore will go pro. He is just beasting this season. He is a great driver and 3-pt shooter and has improved his jumper. He has really become an all around player as he does well defensively. I think he will probably go 10-20 in the draft right now.
  22. Well with me being second in command of the 49ers I could take the Cardinals who I know pretty well because they are in the NFC West.
  23. He just wanted to be like one of the best Cubs ever.
  24. Wouldn't that be nice? I love boxing, but I pay absolutely no attention to what organizations carry what fights. IBO, IBF, WBO, UBC, GBF, etc... The last two being the cleverly made up Universal Boxing Council and the Global or Galactic Boxing Federation, which seem like nice fits along with the actual World and International Boxing organizations already being used. I don't really care about the inner workings. Just give us the fights we deserve to watch, like Pacquiao vs. Mayweather. And make them so people can actually watch without forking over ridiculous amounts of money. It's pretty clear to me when boxing lost its fan base. It coincided with when every worth a damn went to PPV. If people can't see the sport it won't remain popular.
