  1. I think it is a pretty common trait amongst coaches. Weber was an assistant under Keady for a long time and Keady almost never gave freshman good minutes no matter how good they were. Almost never? Keady gave plenty of freshman decent playing time. Uh no he really didn't. In his last years he had to because his team sucked but for a large majority of his coaching career he wouldn't play freshman much. Like most of the guys from his coaching tree he prefers veterans who limit mistakes because his team's won by creating turnovers defensively and limiting turnovers offensively.

  3. Frazier did averaged 0.5 pts more than Kramer but he was not a more effective scorer. Kramer averaged 1.37 points per shot attempt while Frazier averaged 1.33. The difference would be Kramer made his foul shots. Also if you look at it career wise Frazier had one decent season with the 1.33 points per shot attempt, one mediocre one and two horrid ones. Kramer has never been a liability. His worst season was his freshman year when he shot .430 and scored 1.21 per shot attempt. Frazier as a freshman shot .208 ( :rotfl: ) and scored .71 per shot attempt.
  4. Eh. I've never been high on him and at this point I would say Marshall could do around the same job.
  5. Robbie Hummel is at least ten times the player that Chester Fraizer is. The myth of Chester Frazier is unreal. Chester was a big part of the record the past few years. Having a point guard who could shoot a bit and we are a lot better. You trying to say Hummell couldn't have helped Purdue overcome a 40 point loss last year? And the whole part about Hummell playing 39 minutes in the first game? AT PURDUE? I have no clue how you reconcile last year's season with your belief that everyone on the team (except DMac) was garbage beyond your hopeless longing for Bill Self. How do you explain that we're so much worse this year with a point guard who can shoot the ball? Frazier is Kramer except that Frazier plays PG. I would Kramer is a very big part of Purdue's success. That however is because he is surrounded by very good offensive players that allow to not worry about scoring whatsoever (although Kramer has shown the ability to power drive pretty well). A PG who is completely defensive and practically worthless offensively is not a particularly great thing to have on a team with few scorers. He doesn't hurt but he doesn't help out nearly as much as he would in Kramer's situation. When a team isn't very good offensively I think it is important to have all 5 players at least be a legitimate threat to shoot. Otherwise the defense can play loose on the player who can't shoot which allows them to shutdown the other four players easier.
  6. So I thought Purdue was not really doing much on the road and that was their big negative so far. However I learned today they have the 6th most wins on the road/neutral of any team in Bracketology and have the most of any team who has yet to lose on the road/neutral.
  7. Anyone see the new Bracketology? Lunardi has Purdue as the No. 1 overall seed. He doesn't say out right that it is because they deserve it so I'm thinking it is because it would put them in Milwaukee.
  8. I had been waiting for someone to post this. Revis dominates Woodson in coverage. Woodson makes it close due to his rushing defense. While rushing defense is helpful I will take the better cover corner every time, especially when it is this wide of a margin. The best way I can put it is CB rush defense is like a QB who can scramble. It helps and makes an impact on the game but the QB who is a much better passer is the one you take every time.
  9. Woodson only has 2 more INT's than Revis but only half the PD's. Revis has also performed at his best against the leagues best WR's which is a big difference maker in terms of the best CB in my opinion.
  10. So my brother said he saw some pregame interview that Ocho Cinco said he would change his name back to Johnson if Revis shut him down. No more Ocho Cinco I guess. On a related note Revis is just ridiculous and I think pretty easily the top corner in the league right now.
  11. Same way Colston lasted until the 7th round. Teams are ridiculously dumb when it comes to the draft. After what 5 decades or so they still get caught up in 40 times and the other drills done without pads and with no opposition instead of what a guy can do on the field.
  12. Wow. With as much as people talk about this being a passing league, there are some crazy rushing numbers going on this year. It's crazy because it's not true. I know the undefeated 1972 Dolphins had two, I think there was a Steelers team that had two in Harris' days and I know Vick and Dunn did it in 2006. Probably a couple others. No, the 1972 Dolphins did not. Csonka had 1117 but Morris only had 1000. As for the 06 Falcons, Dunn had 1140 but Vick only had 1039. You're wrong. EDIT: Beaten by like 5 different people. No Garwilly just felt like posting it 3 times.
  13. I was just posting that I noticed my mistake. Yeah they are probably the first then. As far as the rushing stats this year its not really that crazy. There is CJ going for 2,000 and this Carolina thing. Other than that it is normal or below normal on a individual rusher perspective. The two-back system is changing the individual rushing stats. A couple years ago I would have said 1,300+ is a good season for a RB. Now 800+ in a two-back system is a good season.

  15. If I was a fan of any other team maybe. I feel for you for Yao Ming, but the McGrady injury was probably the best thing that could happen to you guys. Perhaps but you can't convince me otherwise that a fully healthy T-Mac and Yao wouldn't have made at least one long run in the playoffs. T-Mac got hurt right when Yao was figuring it out and becoming dominant. BTW I say perhaps because if T-Mac didn't get hurt all the time Morey may never have been allowed to do what he has done. You would have still probably topped out at the conference finals, and even then it would have been at the expense of the development of Aaron Brooks. You know TMac wasn't gonna let him handle the ball and shoot as much as he has. That is only last season. I'm talking about all the seasons they have been together.

  17. Perhaps a better question is of the ones listed which is your favorite. Facebook would win easily for me.
  18. This reminds of my recent argument of the best athlete of the decade. I said Phelps, Tiger and Federer are all the best of their sport of all time and thus should share it. In this poll I would say Facebook, Youtube and Google have all made a significant change to our culture. If I had to pick I would go with Google since it bought Youtube and anything there I believe can be seen on the Google video page (could be wrong).
  19. And to think I was sad to see Goins transfer.
  20. If I was a fan of any other team maybe.
  21. Very happy I pulled my plane got delayed I will be an hour late for work today so I can watch this game.
  22. Poor guy has a look on his face that screams, "Dear God, I hope this doesn't get on the Internet". Probably praying to get drafted by a warm weather team. One on the left is Tony Soprano's sister and the one on the right is the high school girlfriend from Rudy. Is anyone seeing this?
  23. DeRosa's 2008 (.857 OPS, 21 HR's, 87 RBI, 103 R) is probably the best 2b performance. 3B A-Ram's 2004 (.951 OPS, 36 HR's, 103 RBI, 99 R) or 2006 (.912 OPS, 38 HR's, 119 RBI, 93 R) . CF could be Jim Edmonds (.937 OPS) but he only played 85 games so I don't think it is fair to do that. After that it is probably the Patterson's 2004 season. LF is Alou's 2004 (.919 OPS, 39 HR's, 106 RBI, 106 R) C is easily Soto's 2008 SS is Theriot's 2008???
  24. they suspended him from coaching the bowl game; he went to court to be allowed to coach the bowl game. I know but anytime you take your school to court expect to be fired. You can't sue your school and still coach there. Also IIRC he was suspended pending an investigation i.e. if he was found to be right he would be allowed to coach the bowl game.
  25. I think Ohio State will finish 3rd or 4th with Wisconsin depending on how much Turner plays and Illinois will finish 5th. Also Michigan will finish ahead of Northwestern. So that would be 1. Purdue 2. Michigan State 3. Wisconsin Ohio State 5. Illinois 6. Minnesota 7. Michigan 8. Northwestern 9. Penn State 10. Indiana 11. Iowa I like Northwestern and will root for them to get in the tourney but teams who rely almost solely on three's don't tend to do well in the Big Ten. Their inability to guard the post was shown last night with Tisdale getting 31 and 12 (IIRC) and Mike Davis doing whatever he wanted in OT. Any team with a decent post player will just post them up offensively and guard the perimeter defensively.
