  1. thats why pencils have erasers. yeah but if they are made in china they just mess every thing up I don't mind it. I still prefer Lee at 2 then Bradley and Ramirez but if Fukudome can see a lot of pitches and get on base a lot it will work out.
  2. If you're not going to contend, what is the point in keeping Hamilton? He's not likely to increase his trade value a ton, and he might not be as valuable in 3 years when your team is ready to contend. I also own Hamilton in a keeper league, and an offer of Upton and Liriano would really have me thinking. You might want to float Hamilton's availability to your league and see if you can get a better offer than what you already have. Now that I have totally wrecked any bargaining power I have with Hamilton in my own league, I will shut up. Gee what league is that.
  3. Second. Third. Fourth. I was ready to fight for Georgetown if they wouldn't have lost to St. John's twice in the past week. Sixth ah dang it I screwed it up
  4. The teams in bold shouldn't have a shot. Agreed? Agreed although I think you could add Georgetown to that list too. Hey they are over .500 ...
  5. Said before the end of Tuesday so get on it ...
  6. I like the design a lot more and the writing original stuff is a good idea. One suggestion to make it better is to not have Andy as one of your writers.
  7. Well I don't get to have the official vote as Jame makes it but I believe Larry English topped the list he sent me and the list I sent him i.e. he should be the selection. If by noon tomorrow Jame hasn't posted I would say go ahead with that pick.
  8. I'm doubting my post was among those used since it was posted 2 minutes before yours and 4 minutes after the bell. Oh well.
  9. Top locks: 1 North Carolina 2 Pittsburgh 3 Oklahoma 4 UCONN 5 Michigan State 6 Louisville 7 Wake Forest 8 Duke 9 Memphis 10 Villanova 11 Kansas 12 Washington 13 Missouri 14 Gonzaga 15 UCLA 16 Utah 8 Considerations: 1 Marquette 2 Xavier 3 Clemson 4 Butler 5 Syracuse 6 LSU 7 BYU 8 Arizona State Not sure if I should still include auto bids. If not then Illinois and Florida State are my next two.
  10. I'm reaching perhaps even farther ... Round 2: 1 White Soxaholics: Jose Lopez, 2B, SEA 2 Bronx DSB: Matt Cain, SP, SF 3 New York A-Roids: Carlos Pena, 1B, Tampa Bay Rays 4 The Big City Sliders: Carl Crawford, TAM 5 Hosak: Justin Verlander, SP, Det 6 Cubbiebummin: Yovanni Gallardo, SP, Milwaukee 7 Canuckophiles 8 Kingsport Copperheads 9 Slainte 10 Hosak 11 SoCal Cubs 12 Minnesota Masterbatters 13 Czar Nikita 14 Roady 15 Team Bouldin 16 Nuke's Bombers
  11. He's in a heated contest with Pryor. Richard Pryor's dead, dude. And that is different from Miller's career how??? I always write Pryor and then have to try and to catch it and change to Prior. For the record I like and root for Miller and Prior (and Pryor).

  14. Yeah I heard it. He pretty much said well what I was really meaning was Fukudome is different than other players because he couldn't relate very well and you have to show more patience. I was meaning Lou didn't. He pretty much backed off what he said.
  15. Why are both on the clock?
  16. I love having to watch Tennessee v. Alabama over Purdue v. Michigan State because I'm in South Carolina.
  17. Well you can either take more pitchers and be medicore at both hitting and pitching or keep your best players and have dominant hitting. I go the latter. You can win a lot with your hitting and while you will be weak at pitching just keep your eye out early for the breakout guys.
  18. All depends on what you have to give up to get longoria. He already said the net would be Phillips for Longoria with his other keepers not being affected. Yes but I doubt the trade is one for one. When trading players for keepers you have to take into account what the other guy gets. Is the upgrade from Phillips to Longoria good enough to give the other guy Phillips and some other keeper. If the other guy has really bad keepers and you are giving him two pretty good ones just to get a slight improvement then I wouldn't do it. All that does is give you a guy slightly better but the draft pool takes a hit and you could end up with a team much worse. I had to do this a couple years ago in a football keeper. We go to keep 3 players and I had Brady, Brees, Tomlinson and LJ. People tried to trade for Brady but no one could give me a big enough improvement over my other three so I let him go and he ended up being the first pick. That then dropped a better player to me at the 9th pick. The difference between who I got at 9 and who was available after that was bigger than any improvement I could have gotten with my keepers.
  19. All depends on what you have to give up to get longoria.
  20. I'm just happy I got Jay Bruce. I should be able to keep anyone I want after this season with having Pedrioa, Lester, Daisuke and Bruce.
  21. I said it obviously wouldn't happen in a Vlad sitaution if you are talking about what I wrote. The reason it is worth talking about is he is a big time perhaps hall of famer (I would say yes) that has admitted to it. It's showing that just about every prospect from DR has lied about their age.
  22. I would love to get Pedro for cheap but he would never come cheap. Schilling would likely come pretty cheap because he has few other options. Pedro on the other hand has a couple options and will likely get a 10 mil deal.
  23. Probably not likely to happen with the ages in your example. With it being a year later they could very well have seen what he has and not like it thus want out of the deal or if he gets an injury. A lot of things can happen.
  24. I wonder when the first time a team voids the contract will be. Obviously wouldn't happen in a Vlad type situation but if you signed a guy who said he was 18 and is really 21, find out about it a year later you should then be able to get out of the contract.
  25. Wow that was woeful. I don't care to see them in the studio acting like a rock band when Len just looks like a nerd who has no idea how to sing. All you need to do is show the most dramatic plays from the season before and everyone will love it. Show the Edmonds walkoff, Z no-hitter etc.
