  1. The Cubs already have somebody on their roster with eerily similar minor league numbers in Sam Fuld. No need to waste assests on something the Cubs already have. This is Phil Rogers not thinking again.
  2. Just because your QB is a drama queen doesn't mean you have to be one. The Bears are like the Skins, they are just playing out the string. So if the Vikings can't beat the Bears then your team won't last long in the playoffs. I thought the Panthers were just going to be playing out the string last week too. Then they came out with a beatdown. The Vikings have played two primetime road games this year and have played awful in each. The o-line and defense have been bad on the road lately. Combine all that with Favre's terrible history in the cold lately and I don't see a Vikings blowout. Vikings are going to win, so why are you concerned?
  3. More like 40ish. And unless it's a minor league contract, I don't want nothing to do with Jose.
  4. I wouldn't mind Spilborghs as a replacement for Johnson, and I wouldn't mind Calero, but in no circumstances do I want Contreras.

  6. Bob Shoops should be the first call, but ultimately I think Utah's Kyle Whitingham would be a better fit at UF then Stoops.
  7. i've heard during his hospitization that they found an arachnoid cyst. don't know if it is true or not, tho.
  8. For those who have been calling for Kreutz to be replaced, may finally get their wish. And IMO, I think Kreutz should be released in the offseason.
  9. I don't know if that is the case as it is Capps felt he could build up his value as a closer with the Nats then he would as a set up with the Cubs.
  10. Good luck with trading Huet. I do think Niemi deserves a chance to be the #1 guy. I think the only chance the Hawks have of trading Huet is if he proves he can be a top playoff performer though. Kind of a tough catch-22 situation. If Huet continues to play well I think you might see a couple of teams interested in Huet in the offseason.
  11. Need to show those guys who's boss.
  12. I see Sharpie, Toews and Kane score in what I would assume is a workmanlike game tonight? Niemi is quickly becoming one of my favorite players.
  13. Don't read much into that, even tho he should be fired.
  14. That would make too much sense for both teams. I'm guessing the Braves were the ones who hung up on that one. Milton Bradley in Atlanta would have had great chance of becoming a epic disaster especially during Bobby Cox's farewell tour. Not a chance that Frank Wren would have done that to Bobby.
  15. I hope he's right, but I really don't trust Rosenthal's word.
  16. http://bearfansunited.org/ I'm all for the sentiment, but what a waste of money. I don't think it's a waste of money, but then again it is not my money.
  17. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/63574/20091222/bulls_giving_del_negro_until_mid_january/ Oh brother. This is why this organization will be nothing more then mediocre. GarPax can go to hell if they stay with this plan.
  18. This is a meh trade for both teams. The Braves sold high on a guy clearly coming off his best year, but they didn't really get anything that will help. The Yankees are getting a guy who clearly pitches better in the NL then the AL. So again, a "meh" trade for both teams.
  19. Oh goody. To be embarrased on national tv, where do I sign up? Not a chance I will watch the game.
  20. You can't argue keeping VDN after a game like this, but you know the Bulls, aka GarPax, are going to spin it. Screw the Bulls.
  21. If I were Capps and I wanted to play for a contender. And the Phills were interested. I'd choose the Phills over the Cubs in a heartbeat. Same here, but Capps seems to be more interested in the Cubs and/or Phillies don't seem at all interested in Capps.
  22. Perhaps the dreaded "breakout player" jinx was too much pressure for G-Reg.
  23. I think most here would agree with this sentiment, but unfortunately we all know Hendry is poised to sign Capps to something like 2 yr 4 mill per just to piss Cubs fans. I won't quit if they do, but I don't think the Cubs will trade for Gardner since Fuld is a better player.
