  1. Oh good, you confused Alabama with Kentucky.
  2. Hey you just landed former Baylor commit and 9th best safety prospect Ahmad Dixon and should be landing Blake Sims (who just decommited from Bama.... :banghead: ) anyday now. Sims was promised by the Vols staff he would play QB, but ultimately Sims will end up at WR or DB. So don't get too greedy now, dew.
  3. Hey..................they grouped those lunatics with us good Alabama fans. That generalization just made you look and sound like an ass. Not to mention wrong. There may be those whose "cattle has left the ranch" might fit into that catergory, but most Bama fans was NOT under what just mention Logan. So again, don't make those stupid generalizations.
  4. I'm in the camp that Niemi can be that franchise goalies, and because of this I don't think goalie should be a priority for the Hawks. If a real talented goalie falls into your lap, fine, but the presence of Niemi allows the Hawks to take their time with a goalie. I'm not sold on Niemi yet. I mean, this team is so good that Huet is one of the league leaders in GAA, for crying out loud. Niemi is benefitting too. But he sure does seem to have that ability to make the tough saves, like that left kick save he made last night. That was pretty. But even if he's not going to be a stud, franchise-type goalie for many years, I agree that he is good enough to get us by for a few years. But we'll only need him for that if we can find someone to take Huet. He's doing really well and making some tough saves, but I have a Randy Wells complex about him. Mentally, I still can't make myself feel certain he's legit. Just like Randy Wells, Niemi isn't being asked to be the #1 goalie (or ace in Wells case), he is being asked to play to his abilities when he numbers is called. And for the most part he has answer the bell. One more year as an understudy to Huet (in 2010-11) and I think he will be ready to be a #1 goalie by 2011-21.
  5. Probably because Canada has had its own problems keeping franchises, as it was the move away from those smaller cities that couldn't compete that started the process of going south in the first place. A couple years ago people feared for the future of Edmonton. It's not a no-brainer. Suffice to say, IMO Phx and Atlanta are not long-term viable options to support NHL teams.
  6. People will stare at the 4 INTs in his stats, but overall Gilbert didn't play as bad as people think given the circumstance. He showed flashes of greatness, but glimpses of being a freshman QB.
  7. That could have all sorts of interesting ramifications. I am going ahead and do since somebody has to............... Nick Saban to USC by Monday should Carroll go to Seattle. Book it. :pig:

  9. Thanks. I hadn't read anything post-game recap about his injury yet. I hated seeing him get hurt like that; it just didn't look like a game-ender (though obviously uneducated "looks" aren't terribly conclusive). Yeah, I kept waiting for him to come back into the game. Just a freak thing. Like most, I hated to see Colt's last game in college football to end like that. I rather have beaten a McCoy lead Texas team, instead of Gilbert, but oh well. That's the only regret of the NCG, was seeing the look on McCoy's face.
  10. That says one of two things to me: 1. It tells me people in Atlanta are fully convinced that the Thrashers are going to trade Kovy and they want no part of it or 2. They just don't give a damn about hockey in Atlanta. This is the second franchise that Atlanta won't support in hockey. At this point, the NHL has two teams they REALLY do need to relocated; Phoenix and Atlanta. I just don't know why Bettemen is fighting against putting one of two more teams back in a country that lives in breathes hockey.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX3UqY8KZpU It's not annoying well I'm from. But then again the ONLY good thing from Mobile is the Fantasy Cruise Lines. Nobody can poop on my parade.
  12. Well he is a free agent. And he is their best back, but hasn't gotten the carries like it. He splits pretty substantial time with two other backs in Bell and Bush. So if you could make a good sales pitch with enough money attached, you could always try luring him away. I've constantly mentioned Norwood or Washington as more likely scenarios though. I doubt Thomas makes it to FA. I've heard that the Saints all more then likely to cut Bush and if that is the case, it is prolly because they want to re-sign Thomas.
  13. I'm sure Dan never said he was certain that the Bulls would get Kobe. Did Dan run this newest rumor by Terry and "his guy"? Terry's guy is the one who tells us after a big story breaks that he knew it would happen all along. This is what I dug up regarding Bernstein and Kobe. I listened to the Score all day pretty much the 2 days that story was at its peak, and while my memory is a bit hazy, I seem to remember him saying something like "Kobe to the Bulls is extremely close/Kobe just needs to approve it/Kobe will be a Bull". Yep. I remember supposed Kobe blocking a trade that would include Luol Deng. I distinctly remember not reallyinteresting in having The Raptists on the Bulls, but I certaintly understood why the Bulls were trying to get him.
  14. Thank you. If anybody knew what we went through between Franchione skulking into the night to Texas A&M to the Mike Price "strip" tease, to Mike Dubose's President Clinton's impersonation to Mike Shula being a last minute hired after Price/not ready for prime time coaching, then you would know why I take very much pride in my Alabama Crimson Tide team. We've been embarrassed enough times that yes............this title feels good. McCoy or no McCoy. So you detractors (and Flames I am excluding you here) can get mad, can get pissy, or ya'll can channel you're inner Christian Bale for all I care, Bama is back and I am happy. Besides, since I am a Cub fan why won't you let me enjoy the one time that a favorite team of mine is on top of their sports world? I wouldn't crap another anybody else parade if their team won, so why crap on mine?
  15. Uh.................................NOPE. Flames, I am going to use the "13th title" for the time being, and then retired it during the summer.
  16. I know it is, but how about getting tougher schedules? Next year is a start with Virginia Tech, but that's not enough.
  17. Thx man. Trust me, when Bama was going through the "Mike's" period of Shula/Price/Dubose, I never thought Bama would ever see this moment again. I knew you had a shot when you hired Saban. Didn't think it'd come this quickly, though. I hear ya. I was think 2010 at the earliest, so I am not complaining at all.
  18. There's a reason there is no NCAA Championship in football..... That crystal football says otherwise. BTB, tell Boise State to get in a tougher conference. It's as simple as that.
  19. All the great (or at least a majority of them) coaches are asses. Pete Carroll, yes. Urban Meyer, yes. Woody Hayes, yes. Bob Stoops, yes. Roy Williams, yes. Bill Self, yes. And the list goes on. You're right, if Saban was at Florida and doing this I would be calling him an ass (just like he was at LSU), the fact is he's at Alabama, and I can accept him being an ass. this comment is so stupid and so wrong its mind boggling. W/e, Most great coaches are asses and if you can't see that then maybe you don't want to believe that. And that is on you.
  20. I didn't say ALL great coaches, just most.
  21. Thx man. Trust me, when Bama was going through the "Mike's" period of Shula/Price/Dubose, I never thought Bama would ever see this moment again.
  22. :-({|= You haters simply want to nitpick on Saban so much it has blinded your objectivity. Correct me if I am wrong, but does Texas have a defense? Was it Bama's fault they couldn't stop Trent Richardson. Was the play C ypocall not a simply draw play? OMC you are better then this. If you want to spew your hate, fine, but direct it towards Longhorns defense who refused to tackle Richardson. It's not Bama job to stop scoring, that job belong to Texas' defense.
  23. All the great (or at least a majority of them) coaches are asses. Pete Carroll, yes. Urban Meyer, yes. Woody Hayes, yes. Bob Stoops, yes. Roy Williams, yes. Bill Self, yes. 24. I'm not going to gloat, I'm not going to trash talk, I am just loving the moment so much that all the little snide comments (OMC and Truff, both of which are clearly talking out of their arses) that have been made towards Saban, I won't even respond. Suffice to say, Bama proved they ARE the best team in college football of 2009. Number 13 coming home to Tuscaloosa. Way to go, Roll Damn Tide... :D
  25. You have to give me credit, I've been less obxious this year then I was last year. With that said, I haven't met a Longhorn fan who didn't think there team is entitle to win tonight's game. In fact 90% of Texas fans I've met have been some of the most obxious, ridiculously stupid, and simply flat out losers. But hey, I don't care cause tonight................13th is coming home.
