  1. They can ask, but they will get a no on Castro. But the Cubs, IMO, still have enough to land AGon without including Castro.
  2. I was following the game on both NSBB and BF.net and suffice to say I had to look up at the website title to see which site I was on, because Brewers fan on that site sounds very much like Cubs fans during a game thread.
  3. So Nady can go to 1st. I don't know if you are being sarcastic, but didn't Nady start in RF and move to 1st after Lee's injury and Colvin going in RF?
  4. Agreed.
  5. I know they are the Wings, but come on Hawks show Detroit who the better team is.
  6. I wish MLB would give their teams a mulligan like the NBA did a few years ago with the "Allan Houston rule", cause I know who would be my candidate for instant release. Well golly, when you have so man young/rookie pitchers in one bullpen it's not a surprise the bullpen is struggling.
  7. Why not? They're the kings of the Big XII as it is, plus there are no natural rivalries in the SEC for either team (save maybe Arkansas). Money would be the biggest reason they'd be interested, but I think the SEC would be more interested in a team like FSU or Miami due to the natural rivalries (Florida teams, FSU/Bama, etc.). Don't forget about Georgia Tech. The YJ do have a long history in the SEC and they have rivalries with GA, and Auburn not to mention they could have interests in starting rivalries with Bama, Florida, Tennessee and perhaps even South Carolina. I don't know if you can get Miami or FSU to jump ship from the ACC. I'm sure the SEC would offer both, but I think considering the overall weakness of the ACC, I think FSU and Miami both see the door open to dominate the ACC, as opposed to having to go through Bama and/or Florida for the SEC.
  8. He should, but he won't.
  9. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bulls/post/_/id/499/rose-predicts-bulls-will-make-the-playoffs Say again, Derrick? TWICE to the Nets, Bulls. TWICE. That's incredible.
  10. The Bulls blew a 7 point lead in OT to be force to play a 2OT. Now in the second OT the Nets have a 7 point lead, now watch THEM hold onto the lead.
  11. the only good chicago sports team is winning and closing in on a 1 seed THAT would be the only silver lining on the night.
  12. 2OT with the worst team in the NBA. Cool. This could turn into a real pathetic night for Chicago sports.
  13. You can't beat the Nets, you don't belong in the playoffs. It's that simple. It's the friggin' Nets....
  14. I will say this...........Carlos' performance tonight is the only Silva lining for the Cubs.
  15. Carlos Silva's twin is going tomorrow? Hope his performance is as good as Silva's.
  16. Maybe the fans thtat jumped on the '03 and '08 bandwagons have long since jumped off, but us lifers are here to stay whether we like it or not. I get that, but that doesn't make us any less sane.
  17. Everybody here is insane for still following the Cubs.
  18. Well......there's always google. if Theriot wants a hit.
  19. First: Like Omar mentioned earlier in the thread, I would like to congratulate Tyler on his first major league homerun. It was as impressive of a shot as Jason Heyward's. Here's to many, many more HRs from TC in the future. Second: There are those that said Heyward's "welcome to the major leagues" moment happen when he homered on his first major league at bat, I disagree. I think Jason had his "welcome to the major league" moment last night against Carlos Marmol. Anybody can hit a homerun off a flat fastball, but I am pretty sure Heyward has never faced a slider like Marmol before and it showed. Third: Is it wrong if the Cubs reorder their starting rotation to Dempster/Wells/Zambrano, because right now Wells and Demspter are clearly better pitchers (I didn't say more talented, just better) then Carlos, and thus the rotation should be reorder to show as much. Fourth: Sean Marshall. He's more then earned his shot at the rotation. That is all.
  20. Alright, I couldn't remember how they were all acquired. I can't think of any major free agents who have worked out then. Which my point is.....when the Skins trade Albert maybe, just maybe, Snyder should put his pocket book away for awhile and start this thing call "building through the draft." I have an answer for your question RedFlash. Andre Carter signed as a free agent and has been productive. So basically throughout Snyder's tenure, he has signed the likes of Bruce Smith, Jeff George, Deion Sanders, Albert Haynesworth, Shawn Springs, that a player like Andre Carter ends up prolly the Skins best FA acquisition under Dan's watch.
  21. Wow, what an annoying start to a game thread. Sad thing is...it wouldn't surprise me if we see a few of the Duke Blue Devils on "To catch a predator" series.........with some of their lacrosse friends.
  22. Prolly. And any Brewers fan who supports it shows blind homerism. With that said, I take the "un tuck 'ems" over the Cards sense of "baseball righteousness" any day of the week.
  23. Great play, no doubt. Prolly the best play by a pitcher all year, but I'm willing to say that play won't be the best play made all year.
