  1. I think people are overlooking the fact that Atlanta has played 5 games, only 2 against good defenses, and lost big both of those times. 2 of their wins are against 2 of the worst teams in football, and the 3rd win is against a GB team that's 23rd in the league in points allowed. Atlanta has not played well against a good defense yet. The Bears lost to the same 2 teams Atlanta lost to, but the Bears should have won both of those games and only barely lost in the end. I don't see Atlanta's offense doing much against the Bears, no matter how many points they put on Detroit, KC and GB. And their defense is mediocre, certainly no better than Tampa, Philly or Carolina's. I don't disagree with what you say, jersey, but we all can see the ATL is playing better football this yr---couldn't get much worse, I agree---then last yr. And the game is in Atlanta. With that said, if you can go into Indy and win at their place there isn't a place the bears can't win at. But the Bears should and will pressure Matt Ryan into making rookie mistakes, but I also believe Ryan will show why Atlanta tab him as Vick's replacement. So I could see ATL winning this game. But moving on from Vick is one thing, but getting rid of the problem child, DeAngelo Hall was a move that reakky helped them. This guy was as much of a headache as Vick was. But I will say something like 23-14 type game will be the final.
  2. Maybe not, but when Soriano doesn't hit he affects the rest of the lineup. I am a believer that he should hit lower in the lineup and a guy with a stronger OBP should hit leadoff. But most important, I would like for a team to have a good sound discipline at the plate not just in the season, but in the playoffs. With that said, barring a miracle, I expect "Sorry I know" to hit leadoff next yr.
  3. Nobody will ever confuse a White Sox fan with normal person with a working brain.
  4. Might as well keep up the NL West theme and make it the Padres, Rockies, or Giants. Since Padres/Giants/DBacks and the Dodgers have all beaten the Cubs in the playoffs, there is only one logically choice. You know it's got to be the Rockies.
  5. Oh good, so there is ONLY one team that didn't win a single game in the playoffs. That's good to know.
  6. NOW they are...Does anybody remember when Boston (or Duquette) ran off players like Nomar, Mo Vaughn and Roger Clemens? When an organization is hiring PI's to get dirt on their players (in the case of Vaughn, I believe) you're not a good org. Winning 2 championships changes one's POV of a team. The Cubs team are a good run team (not great, nothing special) in baseball, it just they haven't gotten their monkey off their backs. The championships help but that isn't the only reason they are the best run organization in baseball. I know, I'm just saying the Cubs are a better run team today, then the Red Sox were shortly before they won the first championship. And for anybody to call the Cubs the "worst franchise in sports" or the like (and it's been mention recently) is completely ridiculous.
  7. Angels got the 5-4 lead off the bat of Erick Aybar.

  9. 2009: Good run of bad luck...
  10. After Game 1 I felt like Ted Lilly against the D'Back last yr. After Game 2 I felt like the Angels' player in Cro Magnon sign. 24 Hours after elimination I'm like "well it can't be a Cubs season without disappointment."
  11. No thank you on Manny Ramirez. He's got what 2 great yrs left in him and he will decline faster then Sammy did. No need to witness a great hitter like Manny decline in a Cub uniform. I much rather target Holliday.
  12. I wouldn't say it's a "most likely win" against the Bears and Packers to be honest. GB has underachieved no doubt. but they have enough talent to beat the Titans as for the Bears, this team is 2 quarters away from being undefeated. Which means the Bears are likely better then what most pundit (and fans alike) thought they were. With that said, it wouldn't surprise me if Tennessee beats one of Indy/Jack and one of Chicago/GB in that stretch. But I really like what Fisher got going on there in Tennessee and they may be the best in the AFC this yr.
  13. I know. Next yr's club reeks of a 82-85 win season, if Hendry keeps the core players players together.
  14. IDK how the Cubs organization will face the media after tonight. I mean my god, the Cubs are like the playoff versions of the New York Mets, teams that can't handle expectations.
  15. LSU Vance would say, "Just win, female dogs." And I agree. If I had to say one thing to the team right now, it would be... 'No regrets." Do not leave ANYTHING on the field, Cubs. Don't wake up tomorrow thinking you could have done something better to help the team win. No regrets...
  16. Do you still giggle when someone says penis? Only when I am drunk............. (which btw, I am not at this moment, check back in a few hours)
  17. I mean come on, Tebow once got a Division 1A school of a major conference school to basically sleep on his lawn the night before Signing Day a few yrs ago. Oh.......that man that did this....was Mike Shula........ How can you not like a young male, to get old males to sleep on their grass?
  18. You people are forgetting Lidge got this award simply for battling back from that devastating homerun he gave up to Pujols a few yrs ago. I mean you give up a homerun to Pujols, you should be given the comeback player of the yr, regardless of how well he pitched since then.
  19. Why wouldn't they want to come back to Chicago? They kinda just raped us here and did it with relative ease. B/C if the series comes back to Chicago, then the Cubs would have some serious momentum on their side. Which is why, if I am the Dodgers I would go for the kill tonight.
  20. NM I was beaten to the punch.
  21. Hey Dew, you guys could always hire Tony Franklin away from Auburn... (hides behind a 10 ft high brick wall) Hey, at least a lot of Tennessee fans would have their wish and we'd run the spread. . . :-)) LOL. Serious ??? for Dew, how unpopular is Fulmer up there? I heard a rumor that alot of students would have boycotted the game today if Jonathon Compton was name the starter today? As a Bammer, I respect the University, but have no respect for the rat-fink of a coach.
  22. Orlando Cabrera won what in Anaheim? Orlando Cabrera sucks. He'd be a downgrade from Theriot.(and I'm no Theriot fanboy) Maybe "OC" won himself a free rally monkey? IDK I'm spitballing here. Not to mention OC didn't win in Boston either, he rode the bandwagon for 3 months then split to Anaheim after the season. So this theory that OC has won something, is complete bunk.

  24. Why would the Mets do that trade? Considering the Mets either have, or will pick up Delgado's option. They have no use for Lee.
  25. The Hogs did nothing against Bama, now Michael Smith on the other hand, he looks like he will be a nice replacement for Darren McFadden. Smith got his despite his teammates... There is no excuse for Florida to let Arkansas move the ball on them......but that' FloRida's problem.
