  1. ATP the Hawks need to get Khabby healthy and ready for the playoffs. IMO, after the season I much rather re-sign Nik to a 2/3 yr deal for reasonable money, and trade Huet to a goaltender desparate team and have Niemi as Nik's backup, over bring Huet back. I cannot get confident with Huet in goal, and I think the Hawks should trade him in the offseason.
  2. I believe it's Terry Collins who is Chinese coach.
  3. The Bears just re-signed Kevin Jones....2 years $4million deal.
  4. I'm not convince the Dodgers will even reach 90 wins, much less "best record." I know they play in the "Crap Division" and should win that division handily, but their pitching stiff isn't exactly legendary. There is good talent on the staff, but the Dodgers have to replace Lowe, and Saito. There is talent on the Dodgers, but unless Kemp/Either and Loney take MAJOR step forward in their development, I can't see them winning more then 85 games. They are simply not that good. If they did win 90 or so games, then they would be lucky. (Btb: I think the Cubs are in that same range, 85-90 wins, so it's not as if I have my homer sunglasses on)
  5. I once had a dream in which I made tons on tons amount of money in my life and I decided to buy the White Sox from Reinsdork. I would not renegotiate the lease to the Cell Field, and I would then move the White Sox to Oregon and sign an unflattery 30 year lease with the city that would make the White Sox essentially a small market team who can't spend much on FA. Essentially an Oregon version of Florida Marlins. Then after all of this, I would then sell the White Sox for .25 cents on the dollar and return to Chicago and continue my undying alliance to the Cubs. This dream would have the White Sox out of Chicago, and the Cubs would not have to deal with these bums or their team any longer. So yeah, Fred, I share your hatred on the White Sox. And I live for the day in which the White Sox are no longer in Chicago.
  6. Yeah I saw it. As a Bears fan I seriously doubt Angelo will even entertain the idea of signing TO, even with a need at WR, but as a football fan, my money is on TO going to Oakland.
  7. SWEEEEEEEEEEEET thank you good sir Don't forget the mute button, though. I take it it's Hawk and Stone tonight, then? Cause I contemplating watching Australia .v. Seattle on MLB Network that is on at the same time, because anything is better then listening to Hawk butcher a broadcast.
  8. I understand, but there isn't too many good places to talk Hawks (other than here), and it's kind of fun to read those posters.
  9. I understand that, I was simply saying that Hawks fans are not liking this trade.
  10. good, bad, or blah? After what RedFlash just said it makes it even worse. Unbelievable. Pahlsson is washed up and hasn't played much this year... He has like 5 goals and 10 assists all year. Terrible move now that I know they're giving up Kontiola. A lot of Hawks fan over at chicagoblackhawks.co are NONE TOO HAPPY about the trade. Considering some good players were had today for decent price, to walk away with a guy who isn't even guarantee to play anymore this yr for Wiz a draft pick, AND Kontiola.....CRAP DEAL for the Hawks. This trade reminds me of when the Cubs traded for Steve Trachsel.
  11. Hawks are supposedly also giving up Kontiola in the deal. All for a guy who hasn't played in what........4 weeks because of mono. I hate to say it, but this was a desaparation move by Tallon.
  12. Sounds lik the Hawks picked up Dominic Moore (Tor?) for perhaps a 2nd and a 4th rd pick. What I know is this is a decent pick up for the Hawks. Edit: Nevermind.
  13. I would opposed to picking up Pronger, and/or Laraque type enforcer, cause they those two players would definately make teams like Detroit and San Jose think twice about getting physical. Recchi, IMO doesn't make sense. As for the "rumor" Pronger deal, I like it. IMO it is essentially Seabrook and a 1st rd pick(which would be mid to late 20s pick, anyways) for Pronger (seeing as chances are Havlat is pricing himself out of Chicago anyways, and Buff sucks.) But this deal would be contingent on Kane and Sharp getting back on track for the playoffs. If Kane and Sharp are back on track, then yeah I would make this trade.
  14. Yea, it's not like we have Rich Harden or anything. It was a joke in the mold of a Ryan Dempster style joke.
  15. Of course it's made by a Angel's fan, just read this line: <<>> Even if they did get AGon and Peavy, I have a hard time believing they would be a "powerhouse that causes tremors throughout the game." With that said, I doubt the Padres trade him for that package.
  16. I thought Juan Mateo retired from baseball. No way, Mateo was eating by a giant snake.
  17. It's a good thing we brought in another guy who can speak Ryan Dempster's language. Maybe NOW Demp can relax as a Cub. 8-)
  18. True, but outside of "hiccups" from San Francisco, there has been no other team linked to Manny Ramirez, at least not "officially". So right the Dodgers are definately are playing it better then Manny. Now I understand that Manny is the difference between the Dodgers winning the West and finishing third next yr (D'Backs and depends on if the Giants surprise everybody and snatches Manny) but I don't the Dodgers are going to panic in these negotiations. While their offense wont be "explosive" without Manny, they still have a lot of good young hitters that can play (Ether/Kemp/Looney/Martin) and couple those with a couple of solid vets (Blake/Furcal/Hudson) and the Dodgers could still have a solid offense. Ultimately I do think Manny will end up with the Dodgers, but not for the offer that Boras is wanting (2 yrs $55 mill).
  19. If the Cubs can get Schilling to sign a John Smoltz type deal, and is under direct order not to consider trying to get back to the pitcher moound at Wrigley till August at the earliest, I will be all for it.
  20. It's neither. Brooks still has gas left in the tank but he needs to find a team that currently plays the Tampa 2 defense. With Jim Bates as the new DC at Tampa, and they want to get bigger on both the OL and LBer, Brooks simply doesn't have a spot (I think TB is nuts, but oh well) on their team. I could see team like Philadelphia signing Brooks.
  21. IDK if it would be wise, but I would love to see Q throw the refs and the NHL under the bus. This crap has got to stop. The NHL refs are clearly the worst "refs" in the major sports.
  22. This is definately have a feeling of a TERRIBLE, TURRIBLE loss, candidate for worst loss of the year.
  23. The rumor that I've heard on another site was that Paxson is trying to get one of Minnesota first rd picks (they've got three, at least in the 2009 draft).
  24. To be honest I still think Amar'e gets traded, because Sarver does not want to pay the luxury tax. It's that simple To me this sounds like a smokescreen, but who knows anyways.....I don't really trust anything from ESPN anyways.
