I totally agree. Some of the posters on HFBoards are noting that Buff could be the "face of the franchise" given that he's a black player in Atlanta. Aliu too, to a smaller extent. Setting aside the oversimplicity of the racial component to this, Buff isn't cut out to be the face of any franchise. That's not his thing. He will not carry the load for anyone, and especially not for a bad team. Without motivation, he will disappear on the ice. Agreed. There are very few people that actually wanted to see Buff go, but those people knew someone had the go and it was the one who is already maxed out his potential. As Rosenbloom mentioned in his blog that Buff played well when he had a shot at the US team (I still maintain, he should have made it), but as soon as he didn't make it his play tailed off. This tells me that Buff plays when it benefits himself. I hope he does well in Atlanta, but something tells me he isn't going to be nearly as good on the Thrashers.
