  1. I get loyalty, but IMO a player has to think of his career before the organization, cause a player's career is short enough (in the grand scheme of things) whereas the Cavs will still be around after James is gone. Look if he believes in his heart he can win in Cleveland, then he should stay, but if there is a doubt he shouldn't be wasting his good years trying to erase that doubt. KG learned the hard way that it just isn't going to happen in one place. For KG that moment came after the 2003-04 WCF game in which they were eliminated. (Granted KG was never on a 60 win team in Minnesota) Cleveland has lost three times in the EC Semis, once in the EC Finals, and once in the NBA Finals? When will that moment hit James that it just won't happen in Cleveland? I've said it before, but James needs to push through all the emotional ties the Cleveland will throw at him and weigh his decision wisely. If he believes he can win the Cleveland, he should stay, but if he has a hint of doubt........
  2. That sounds very contradictory, imo. If you can't land Bosh how are you going to convince James to stay with essentially the same team that got eliminated by Boston. Not to mention this would Bosh is likely heading to either Chicago or Miami with Wade, and Boozer ending up in New Jersey. James would still have to get past that same Boston team, a very good Orlando team, improving Chicago and Miami teams and still relatively young and talent Hawks team, all the while your team did nothing to get you some help.
  3. Then why would he based his decision on staying with Cleveland on the basis it would hurt the people of Cleveland feelings? because that's been his home and family his entire life. Huge difference. Not that I think lebron will necessarily sign a shorter term deal. I also doubt it. But I can't believe he's going to tip toe around what other players would think of him. I don't see James doing that to Bosh, I really don't.
  4. I think the possies are much bigger nowadays. If Reinsdorf keeps the biggest FA in the history of sports from signing with his team because he doesn't want to give LeBron's buddies special priviledges he is a stupid owner. And Reinsdorf is not a stupid man. If you want to give James' boy jobs or whatnot within the organization, so be it. If you allow them to ride on the same plan as the team (albeit they have to ride coach, while the team/org is first class), so be it. If you want to give his boys a suite at game. Cool. But if you go beyond that by giving his crew power by proxy (rumors have it that his boys have power within the Cavs org even if James isn't around), meaning dictate organization policies, and whatnot, then I would have tell him no, and not regret it.
  5. considering how quiet his twitter has been the last few days, i feel like that has to mean something. He's an attention whore, so I doubt it means anything.
  6. Unless it's true that they told LeBron his crew wouldn't get special privileges I agree with the Bulls on that. yeah, who cares about winning championships. [expletive] that guy. Jordan didn't need "special privileges" for his boys back in the day to win championships, neither does James. If he wants to stay in Cleveland fine, but Reinsdorf isn't going to give James that kind of power, when he didn't give that power to Jordan.

  9. Isola is a bad source to be quoting, and I really doubt James will settle for a 2 year deal. I could see him signing a 6 year deal with an opt out after 3, but not a straight up 2 yr deal. Not to mention what kind of asshat would James be if he convinces Bosh to come to Cleveland and then bolt after two years?
  10. Not really. It just means it take a little bit longer. Land either Boozer or Lee and you fill a hole right now. In 6 months, you might be able to acquire a nice SG, to fill another hole. Landing Bosh/James/Wade would make the job easier, but there is are more then one way to build a contender. Do you think a team will ever be able to win a championship with Rose as it's best player? I love Rose, but I don't think so. I don't know. The young man will be 22 yrs old in October, and we haven't seen what he can do at his best. I might agree with you Dex, cause Philly didn't win with AI, etc. But then again teams with elite guards, really need at the minimum an above average big, something AI didn't have in Philly. The book is still out on Rose and his ability to lead.
  11. Lee/Korver would not be my ideal offseason, but both players would plug holes the Bulls have. Lee would be a bigger upgrade at PF, then what the Knicks did by going from Lee to Amar'e, and Korver would create space with his 3 point shooting ability. Again, unless something fell into the Bulls lap, Lee/Korver would be a decent offseason, not one all Bulls fans were hoping for, but not one that is even remotely as bad as say Ron Mercer/Brad Miller offseasn.
  12. I get the realty of the NBA, but I also know that you don't walk into elite players, either. Boston took advantage of Danny Ainge's relationship with Kevin McHale and got Kevin Garnett not to mention getting Ray Allen. Both were already on their decline when Boston got them. LA got lucky when Chris Wallace became a punch line to a joke when he gave Gasol to the Lakers. Vince Carter went to NJ but I don't believe he was an elite player at the time of the trade. Elite players do not leave their teams in their primes, they just don't. I think the last one to do it was Shaq in 96. Hill was injuried, and McGrady left Toronto before his prime. So getting James/Wade/Bosh were longshots at best. But here is the good news for the Bulls, by the end of the 2010-11 season Rose will be a bonafide superstar. Not to mention Noah is quickly becoming an elite rebounder/shot-blocker/hustle player. So we got the two important positions filled already. Not all is gloom and doom if the Bulls don't land anybody.
  13. Not really. It just means it take a little bit longer. Land either Boozer or Lee and you fill a hole right now. In 6 months, you might be able to acquire a nice SG, to fill another hole. Landing Bosh/James/Wade would make the job easier, but there is are more then one way to build a contender. The Bulls did not clear massive amounts of salary cap space to get Carlos Boozer or David Lee. Either of those paired with one of the 3 "bigs" would be fine...but by themselves...the Bulls would be a FA loser. I'm not ready to embrace that defeatist attitude, yet.
  14. If you both want to be Debbie Downers that's fine, but I refuse to believe that this class is the only way for the Bulls to improve. Obviously the job is harder if you don't land a James/Wade/Bosh, but not impossible. Not to mention people are getting anxious/depressed on freaking speculation. IMO, there is a reason why the Bulls have been quiet, and I believe that's a good thing.

  16. I think the Bulls are getting shut out of this, too. I don't. I think Boozer or Lee will be Bulls. But even if they do, it's not the end of the world. Isn't that being shut out? No. I don't look at this FA as a 3 man class. If the Bulls land Lee or Boozer, then no we wouldn't be shut out.

  18. I'm not going to get concern until the 8th of July. Till then everything means nothing until pen to paper. I don't see Bosh in Cleveland EVEN to play with James. If Toronto take the crap from Cleveland for Bosh then they should be contracted from the NBA.
  19. Apparently to alot of Cavs fans, Windhorst is not only a homer but he is also a credible source for all things James/Cleveland related. While that may be true, I really doubt he knows what Rose or anybody associated with the Bulls would say about James. I have no doubt Windhorst may have heard that Rose may preferred Johnson, but I doubt he it heard from Rose or anybody associated with Rose. All this can be cleared up with one Lebron James to Derrick Rose phone call. And we know James likes to call Rose.
  20. I've heard this, but I think San Antonio would rather trade him at the deadline in 2010-11 or SNT next offseason, as opposed to acquiring a guy like Lee. I get the impression from Bosh that he prefers not to return home, because of distractions I know funny coming from a player who is milking free agency for everything it's got. I think his heart is set on Miami, would not turn down Chicago, but would only go back Texas is there was no other choice.
  21. Yeah, that is pretty much guessing and not reporting. It's a really good guess. If that scenario happens, can the Bulls keep Hinrich? But it is still a guess based. Re: Hinrich: I doubt it, seeing as both Paxson/Gar and Grunfield are businessmen, and backing out of a deal now would pretty much put them with the Chris Wallace as GMs with little to no credibility. But the question is: why would you want Hinrich back? It was a good deal, one that was needed to be made. So why would you want Hinrich back?
  22. 1: Unless something has changed, San Antonio has said they won't trade Tony Parker. Obviously this can change, but right now they are the one organization that you can take their word for. Plus I don't see Lee in San Antonio, he simply doesn't fit. 2: Bosh doesn't seem all that interested in playing in Texas, period. I still think Miami or Chicago for him. The question is will Toronto blink? 3: Boozer, whereever Bosh, Boozer is going to the other place. (Bosh to Chicago, Boozer to Miami, Bosh to Miami, Boozer to Chicago.) I really do think Boozer is the Bulls to lose, but he is also the backup plan.
  23. RIP Probie. What a warrior. I used his model Hespeler stick in high school. I don't know if I really like the stick or if I just thought he was a badass. Which he was. Absolutely. The man was the definition of warrior, and will be missed greatly.
  24. Yeah, that is pretty much guessing and not reporting.
  25. I know he had no intentions of keeping Hamilton, but that is a horrible decision he made.
