It does make Fox look as short as Fontenot. Lee looks like he is 2 ft taller, but according to cubs.com, Fox is 6-0, and Lee is 6-5. I actually did a bit of a double take at first to see if it was fontenot because i didn't know who the other midget could be.
I don't think that I would be able to run lou out of town fast enough. Why can Dempster and Lilly and Zambrano stay in when there is little to no point in doing so, but then this guy who can actually get guys out is pulled time and time again for the losers in the pen to screw him over.
Came in for Bradley a couple innings ago. what i don't understand is how there were all of these concerns with fox at third and then you bring freel in to play rf instead of third. i just wonder why fox couldn't have been banging balls off of and over the fence a while ago if lou all of a sudden thinks that he is a better defender at third than freel right now relative to their abilities in rf.
And I bet that a lot of those teams had more games to make up than 3.5 (with 3 of those games in hand that are completely under the control of the Cubs). Also the Cubs still have 11 games against the Brewers, meaning that if they play even outside of those games and win 2 of those 3 games in hand, they only have to go 7-4 in those 11 games, which is more than do-able considering that Aramis will be back sooner than it feels.
I feel like there is something going on with the club that we don't know about. Lee not running now combined with some of the other stuff like how Soriano looks as though he would rather be anywhere, but the ballpark. There is also just this total lack of urgency to turn things around. It may just be frustration, but something seems off.
At least it isn't as painful as it could be. If Lou would let him pitch the number of innings that he actually could, he would be inching much closer to being eligible for the ERA lead. As it is, he might get there on the last day of the year.
