  1. after what we saw today, would it be a loss?
  2. At some point, they will win a game or two again, but this is embarassing. These games are just being handed away and no one on the team could care less.
  3. I hate stranding guys, but it at least gives me hope. When no one even gets on, I find that to be more painful.
  4. Do you really think that Lou even cares, though?
  5. I was wondering if anybody knew why there is that little cut out at the wall in rf at the corner of the of wall and foul territory on gameday. It has always been there on the picture, but in my years of watching cubs games, i never recall there being that little area. Was that something that used to be a part of wrigley field or what is it all about?
  6. Harden has the 3rd highest batting average in the lineup.
  7. Can't disagree there. Between double clutches and the kind of play yesterday, it is bad. You could also see that Heilman kind of just lost focus on the mound immediately after that play. His body language was clear that he was frustrated. At the same time, though, Lee needs to realize that Hakeem Olajuwon isn't our SS and has to make a better throw than that.
  8. While you are probably right with Gathright, I'd probably take the same stance as Lou and pretend like he isn't on the team in protest for him actually being on the team in the first place. It would be nice if he'd take the same stance on cotts, lee, and miles at minimum as well. I personally was as much against gathright being on the team as anybody, and I know that you were being somewhat sarcastic, but like i say, it was one of the very few chances to use him. Gathright also looked like he didn't know what was going on when zambrano was on first. when you already have a cancer like bradley beginning to cause enough trouble that the team has had to talk to him about his attitude, I guess that Lou figures that you might as well try to ruffle the feathers of as many players as possible.
  9. To me, beyond everything else, I have to ask what has gathright done to lou and why not put ramirez on the dl. Gathright could have, for maybe the only time ever been the difference in the game. Maybe he gets to second when bradley is thrown out. If that move is made, he makes the catch that kosuke doesn't. Not to mention that he probably should have been used to run for Z. Then, why not dl ramirez if he can't even hit where johnson did. If the guy can play at all, then you use him because the fact is that he is the best hitter available. The managerial decisions are mind boggling, the hitting has been pathetic, the defense has been atrocious, and the bullpen has been sad. On that note, when can we play Hoffpauir, move fontenot back to second and maybe, just maybe find anyone who can allow us to have a different third baseman, allowing miles to be relegated to the bench where he is still under qualified, but hurts the team less.
  10. I would love to see them run up the score tonight. Something about them stealing last night when they were up 5 irked me. I know that there really is nothing wrong with it, but as I sat there, I was somewhat annoyed.
  11. Soriano's ever more lipizzaner stallion-esque hop is not all that annoying when he hits big home runs
  12. If Sori plays the 150 plus that he is saying that he will this year, I wonder how many jacks he will end up with. The weather at home still hasn't allowed for him to have the success that he definitely will have there.
  13. There was nothing wrong with trying there. 0-2 on Hoff, not much to lose.
  14. I would like to drop Ortiz and pick up Kubel
  15. I know that pitch to hit Soriano wasn't intentional, but it ticks me off the number of times that Soriano and Ramirez seem to get hit for hitting big home runs or hitting too many home runs. Soriano seems to get hit a lot anyway.
  16. Sounds like Karros and Brennamen, but look at this garbage, hadn't seen it posted anywhere. "expect Reed Johnson, Kosuke Fukudome and possibly Joey Gathright in the Cubs' outfield" http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090425&content_id=4418262&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  17. I don't know if it would work or not, but I live in Canada and when I want to watch shows on Hulu or one of the network sites, I can't because I am not in the United States. So, I downloaded hotspot shield so that it gives me some US IP address. I wonder if you would use that, it would give you an IP in Florida. That is if you are talking about MLB.TV. I have been meaning to try it for Blue Jays games to see if they'd lift that blackout.
  18. I looked at it and didn't even have a clue what to think this early. This is foolish.
  19. Done deal unless they want us to include Rich Hill. Would they take Cedeno, too? I'd draw the line at Prior, though. Keep him for a potential tejada trade.
  20. i like how the picture is stolen away just before the first pitch of each inning and then comes back to show the field during commercial breaks.

  22. A-Ryan Howard B-Miguel Cabrera and Mark Teixeira C-Josh Hamilton, Carlos Lee, and Alfonso Soriano D-Joey Votto, Justin Morneau, David Ortiz, Jay Bruce, and JJ Hardy WC- PM'd in
  23. I don't think there is really anyway to know that, until he shows up in ST and starts playing with the Cubs, seeing as he has been playing and training in Japan/practicing with them for the WBC and nobody in Japan seems to know how to throw a fastball with movement (2-seamer/sinker/splitter/cutter/etc). They do throw the shuuto, though. It acts similar to a 2 seamer or sinker.
  24. MLB should be allowing people who have MLB.TV to watch this online. I know that they have contracts with the cable providers, but since it is their product, you would think that it'd make sense. Especially for Canadians like me who live in condo complexes where I can't put up a DirecTV dish.
