  1. I saw a report today they are in on Rendon/Cole
  2. You're right, but part of that hinges on Kris Bryant being your third baseman, does it not? yes, it does. that is why they should not trade him. I agree, they shouldn't. But they will, so I'm preparing for heartbreak.
  3. they don't really need to make major changes to win You're right, but part of that hinges on Kris Bryant being your third baseman, does it not?
  4. horsefeathers it. Trade him. They're obviously not going to spend to make the changes they need to win and they don't have enough bargaining power in Contreras or Schwarber to bring back notable players to make those changes a reality. horsefeathers it. They're gonna do it, might as well accept it.
  5. Didn't see this posted anywhere, maybe I missed it...
  6. The in-line ads on the browser don't bother me at all. The two new varieties of mobile ads are disruptive to using the site. Nah. I get em too. Click X in the corner and move on with life. It's insufferable. I hate them. They are just full page versions of ads that already inline on the page. It's redundant and unneccesary. The targeted ads I get in line, I'll actually click on, the full page ad I'll click out immediately. It's obtrusive, annoying, ineffective, and they suck.
  7. Seeing him get non-tendered has genuinely lifted some sort of weight off my Cubs fan shoulders. Like we made it through some sort of natural disaster and even though we didn't come out unscathed, the fact that the disaster is over feels like a new day.
  8. Zunino was their backup option last year. I'm sure they're not content with starting a guy who had a .544 OPS and are willing to acquire a better catcher to fill the starting role. He's certainly capable of putting up better numbers, but $4.5 million is only worth what... 0.5 fWAR? That seems right in the middle of what he was worth and what he could provide realistically in terms of cost/value. I doubt that puts the Rays out of the catcher market.
  9. Apparently the M's are shopping Narvaez now, too, so Willy isn't the only offense forward catcher on the market anymore.
  10. Yes, let's add a third team to a state that has continually shown year after year for over two decades that they don't give a horsefeathers about baseball.
  11. What do people see in Nico Hoerner that I don't?
  12. I just moved into an apartment 7 blocks from Wrigley and I'm 32,000+ in line, so... you lucky few who are getting your number called, if you're ever out of luck on getting rid of a ticket I'd be happy to take them off your hands.
  13. Soto is the horsefeathering man
  14. Figured this works here...
  15. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/10/25/mlb-umpire-apologizes-tweet-suggesting-violence-over-trump-impeachment/?fbclid=IwAR2-nn-Mo9vvFhaT-3OQn8spS-ssfmBHDcsTEeXTVFq74SsJlIrj68GOqVI Oh Christ. If there's one organization that probably would, as a whole, think this way, the MLBUA would probably be it. Feast your eyes upon the very face of progress: https://mlbua.com/the-union2
  16. I think he had some kind of eye issue that he took time off to recover from, but I don't remember it being at the extent it got to when he was with the Cubs. I think it was a hiccup with Texas. I just remember he was struggling a bit after he returned from it and then I think he played with Manny Ramirez and he helped him tweak something in his swing and he started turning it around a bit just before the Cubs acquired him.
  17. I was so convinced he was going to be a diamond in the rough. Like "The cubs will fix him and he'll be that .400 obp 25-30 Homer beast with great defense" that his pie in the sky estimations said at one point during his peak value Then it was like lol he's blind as a horsefeathering bat, can't see horsefeathers baby!
  18. Meanwhile, in Mark Irvings' house:
  19. I think that's a horsefeathering amazing photo
  20. Is Theo broken? I like to imagine him like he's a king being fed grapes by Jed Hoyer and he's just like "This bores me, bring me the jester" and then David Ross walks in and he's like "Perform for meeeee, Jester... Your finest inspirational speech." And he does and he's like "Mmmmmm... Yes, very good jester, I shall keep you around indubitably" And now he's our manager. Also I didn't get much sleep last night so I'm a little delirious right now
  21. But only one of them is a massive pile of horsefeathers
  22. If they decide to make a Roku app I'll be sure to use my parents DirecTV password to get access to it, just like everything else.
