Reading that article is the first time I've ever seen the viewpoint that hating on disco was considered an afront against African Americans, Hispanics, and Homosexuals. The only people I ever associated with disco was milquetoast white people in leisure suits. I realize a lot of disco-era songs became anthemic for a lot of cultures, but I never thought hating disco was because of that, I just assumed people hated it because it was nails on a chalkboard to them. Is this a popular viewpoint that I've just been completely oblivious to or is this some old unpopular hot take that's being resurrected in times of heightened sensitivity?
