  1. It was so fun putting a team together. And the results are going to be so much different this year because there's so much parity. Like before everyone is always going to pick a lot of the same players but now there's a strategy behind it with the addition of dollars and positions. It's like "Well, do I want Stanton here at this much? If I do I can only spend $25 at SS... hmm" whereas before 75% of the field would put Stanton on there because he's the best power hitter in the category and it's a no brainer.
  2. That song was perfect in MVP Baseball. It just sounds like it was made to accompany baseball. And I, too, became a LBC fan because of it. I honestly really like that whole album the song came from, there's a lot of catchy tunes on it.
  3. Fun fact, I'm a dumb dumb so didn't watch baseball after the Cubs got eliminated and had no idea Didi gregorious had TJS. I changed my SS to Bogaerts
  4. He’s been worth 3.3 WAR in two seasons he’s played as a 22 and 23 year old. Averaging less than 2 WAR per year is not good. I don't care how old he is. If he sucks, send him down. Don't let him work out his mechanics in important games.
  5. Psst. Ian Happ isn't that good
  6. Paul Goldschmidt does not strike me as the type of player who loses all baseball talent in his early thirties. There are some players who baffle me. Guys who seemingly fall off a cliff in the middle of their prime years. Goldschmidt has always been great. A good batting eye doesn't go away with age and he seems like he's got the physicality to maintain his strengths without losing a step well into his mid 30's. He's also extremely durable. I think he remains his usual productive self for the majority of this contract. Because of this, I'm upset he's on the Cardinals.
  7. Can we get sticky on the top of forums to remind people of this? This new format is boss.
  8. Rizzo said recently that while, of course, he wishes he could sign a big contract, he still signed a deal early on that set him and his family up for life. That was a $41 million contract. $41 million set him up for life. Mike Trout just signed a $430 million contract after having earned $73 million over the last 4 years. Mike Trout will have made $500 million on his salary alone before this extension is over and that's not counting all the endorsement deals he has/will continue to get. I think Mike Trout is okay with forgoing a bit more money.
  9. I've got some unfortunate news, Derwood
  10. C: Kyle Schwarber ($75) 1B: Paul Goldschmidt ($100) 2B: Javier Baez ($100) 3B: Wil Myers ($25) SS: Xander Bogaerts ($75) OF: Ronald Acuna Jr. ($75) OF: Kris Bryant ($50) OF: Bryce Harper ($100) OF: Mike Trout ($200) DH: Khris Davis ($200) -------------------------------- $1,000 Bench Players PM'ing I absolutely LOVE this new format. It makes picks more challenging and strategic and there's so much opportunity for variety in everyone's teams that the scores should really be all over the place.
  11. Get that man some injury numbing ganja!
  12. Only credit I'll give him at this point in regards to his batting is when he hits a home run they look as pretty as any other right handed hitter in baseball. But he doesn't ding enough dongers for that to be useful
  13. He's definitely lonely
  14. [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. *Thats to Greenberg, btw
  16. Dodger theme aside, that's a pretty damn good concept (unless it's been done before, but I've never seen it)
  17. Bryce is smart enough to know the world is going to burn to a crisp by 2030 and he needs all the money he can get so he can comfortably live on Mars when the time comes to abandon all the normies on Earth.
  18. The only reason he signed with Philly was because MLB The Show backed him into a corner and was like "horsefeathers pick a damn team, we gotta print these horsefeathering sleeves by next month"
  19. I would 100% buy into this silly conspiracy theory for $10 at those odds. it was +4000, not 4000-1
  20. I would 100% buy into this silly conspiracy theory for $10 at those odds.
  21. Any true American knows you eat your meat medium rare with a nice pink center
  22. His wife probably bought everything at a silent auction one time, ruining some child's hopes of acquiring a cool baseball card, so I can empathize.
  23. He's just gunning for that Restore endorsement
  24. I feel like that's just being generously worded. Kapler isn't quirky, he's quite bad at his job.
