  1. My man Alessandro. It's a quantum leap to project a succesful relief pitcher from low A ball, but we (and he) can always dream...
  2. Your wish is the Cubs' command.  According to Dutch sources, Dwayne Kemp, a 19yr old second baseman from the Sparta/Feyenoord club in Rotterdam has signed with the Cubs organization following the MLB academy. His stats for 2007 in the Dutch league: B.A. SL.A. G AB R H HR RBI BB SO SB .333 .475 33 120 25 40 1 21 20 12 12 Within that league, that ranks him 11th in SLG and 13th in OBP. A scoop for NSBB? 8-)
  3. Am I the only one that finds this funny? Now the Cubs have an expert in statistics in the dugout. 8-)
  4. The most obvious response is still missing from this thread: someone just buy the poor kid a watch. :jocolor: The Cubs did what they had to do. Now it's up to Eric Patterson to adjust.
  5. Maestri does it again! :D
  6. So I log on the pc on a saturday evening and catch the last two innings of a Cubs win. Nice :D \:D/
  7. I'm surprised noone here called a Loretta HR there.
  8. So if Blanco stays, it'll be either Soto or Kendall as a Cub next year. Place your bets. For the record: I'd keep Soto and let Kendall try his luck elsewhere.
  9. Both Coats and Rapada seemed trade bait at best for the Cubs organization. The debate about the value of what the Cubs get in return will depend on the outcome of the season (Monroe), or who they get in return (PTBNL) and how he progresses through the minors. Best of luck to Buck and Clay with their careers (excluding games against the Cubs, of course)
  10. To me, anything Vitters does this year outside of Instructional League is completely irrelevant. I'm with O_O on this one.
  11. Thus freeing a 40 man roster spot for .... (please let it not be K.Hill )
  12. In case anyone is wondering: LFC fans pay tribute to Rhys
  13. Maestri's stats as a reliever are stunning.
  14. Aren't the Red Sox automatically disqualified for having two Japanese players? :jocolor:
  15. :D Alessandro seems very reliable lately. I wonder how far he'll go as a reliever.
  16. Why must you torment us so? Because I'm evil. :twisted:Indeed you are.
  17. Surprisingly, that rules out places like Armenia, Burkina Faso, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Zimbabwe. :jocolor:
  18. Down to 63% now. :(
  19. L/R? He bats lefty. I think he was asking for pitcher splits.
  20. Works fine and looks good. Excellent job, Tim. =D>
  21. DFA him. He's just wasting a 40-man roster spot that could go to a real prospect like Koyie Hill. :D My sarcasm meter just went off the scale. 8-)
  22. They seem to be intent on building up Alessandro Maestri's stamina as a reliever. That's twice in the last two weeks he was used three days in a row.
