  1. Nice headline pic this morning: http://www.sporza.be/polopoly_fs/1.597355!image/2724428640.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape470/2724428640.jpg
  2. Alessandro had a good year at AA. I'm looking forward to see what he can do in Iowa.
  3. Indeed; this is a well-prepared comeback.
  4. I was listening to the BBC world service yesterday, and the IAAF has stated that "Australian reports" about this issue should be treated with extreme caution.
  5. Not any more; although I'm sure it worked last night.
  6. Not yet - I assume the pigeon is still on it's way over the ocean. And the bird has landed over here too. 8-)
  7. Not yet - I assume the pigeon is still on it's way over the ocean.
  8. But one of those is Clijsters, so I'm not sure she should count. Actually, none of those is Clijsters, as she's the only unranked player in the bottom half of the draw. Serves me right for watching my screen upside down.
  9. But one of those is Clijsters, so I'm not sure she should count.
  10. Thats a problem with this organization. Rather than call someone up, they pick up some 30something journeyman to fill the spot. Same goes in the majors. If theyd trust the farm system more, Aaron Miles, Joey Gathright, and the 2009 edition of Paul Bako never would have had to happen. I don't think it's a problem at all - the organization promoting it's prospects to a level that is appropriate for their development (in the judgment of those that are responsible) and filling in the gaps with whoever is on the market makes perfect sense to me.
  11. Maybe I have a bad memory, but I seem to recall Iowa regularly signs minor league free agents/journeymen to fill open spots. If required, that shouldn't be any problem this offseason either
  12. If that appeal is rejected, there will be a flurry of similar cases. Looks like it started already: Manchester City vs Stade Rennes Manchester United vs Le Havre
  13. If they find a way to get rid of Miles, I agree.
  14. I will be stunned if the Cubs include Castro in any kind of deal.
  15. If that appeal is rejected, there will be a flurry of similar cases. The BBC has an interesting piece on the case, stressing the importance of the timing of the appeal.
  16. Sounds like something Hendry will say after the budget discussions.
  17. I guess someone is going to get suspended. Not a smart move in a Cup final.
  18. I would expect the Brenly and Mercedes combo there next year; there doesn't seem to be any reason to not simply move them up one level.
  19. USA up to 11th place in the latest FIFA rankings. Grats to you guys.
  20.  Very puzzling.
  21. Not when someone in the front office is delusional and thinks the Cubs are still in the WC hunt and need to keep open a few roster spots for last minute help.
  22. In what ballpark? 8-)
  23. At this point, I feel there's no longer anything to worry about. :(
  24. Gift wrapped with a complementary box of fine cigars would be the way to go.
