  1. So everyone here wants to be a comedian. As this was a cycling topic, (taken from Dutrch TV btw) of this years passage through Geraardsbergen should give anyone interested some idea of what I'm talking about.
  2. Cycling is quite exciting, actually, and has an almost religious following around here. Not many annual events can turn out between half a million and a million people on the streets like the Ronde van Vlaanderen.
  3. Only with the French. In other traditional cycling nations (and in Belgium in particular) Armstrong is generally liked.
  4. Why would the results in 2010 be any different than in 2008?
  5. The Cardinals and the Rays. Put the point remains valid: the Cubs pitching rotation is far from "terrible" - it is among the best in all of MLB.
  6. Agreed, especially since he has options left, so there's no reason to keep him around any longer in his present state.
  7. Note the absense of time-specific information. As in what year.
  8. He is very important to them. The most obvious replacement is Torsten Frings (Werder Bremen), but he doesn't see eye to eye with the national coach. The smart money seems to be on young Sami Khedira (VfB Stuttgart) to get his big chance now.
  9. One to add: Mariners: LHP Scott Ronnenbergh, the Netherlands, age 18 (according to Dutch sources, the Cubs and the Phillies also made him an offer)
  10. I've already heard German commentators saying this means the quarter finals is the best they can hope for now.
  11. The link says 11-1
  12. If this guy has a meteoric rise and gets to play at Wrigley, the press is going to have a field day.
  13. Let's hope that's bad enough to start over with a new GM and manager next year.
  14. I guess Marlon didn't appreciate being HBP 8-)
  15. That's two first pitch outs for Theriot today.
  16. Not really surprising if your n°8 hitter has a .364 BA
  17. He was born in Bruges and is captain of the French national team. That should be worth a couple of votes. :-))
  18. That catch he made in the 1st off Hanley sure looked good to me. 8-)
  19. BUMP. Not good last night. Indeed it wasn't, but if you change the bolding of your sentence, it seems you'll just have to be patient.
  20. I guess Jung's luck finally ran out and his control issues caught up on him.
  21. Yes. Whitey Lockman was 18 and Ted Tappe was 19.
  22. A valid concern, imho. I just want/expect him to do well and adjust to the majors this year.
  23. What necessity? The Cubs aren't going anywhere in 2010.
  24. by ERA. by k/bb, he's sucking pretty hard I'm hoping it's a learning curve, but he does seem to have control issues (hence the 2WP and HPB in this game)
