(taken from Dutrch TV btw) of this years passage through Geraardsbergen should give anyone interested some idea of what I'm talking about.
Cycling is quite exciting, actually, and has an almost religious following around here. Not many annual events can turn out between half a million and a million people on the streets like the Ronde van Vlaanderen.
He is very important to them. The most obvious replacement is Torsten Frings (Werder Bremen), but he doesn't see eye to eye with the national coach. The smart money seems to be on young Sami Khedira (VfB Stuttgart) to get his big chance now.
