  1. Now PSG's boss Leonardo says he isn't coming and will probably stay in LA on an extended contract.
  2. Nice come from behind win for Fulham against Arsenal today.
  3. Verdict of the Dutch FA: replay of the game behind closed doors on 01/19 (+ a fine for Ajax)
  4. I guess he promised/owed Victoria a lengthy shopping spree in Paris.
  5. French newspapers are reporting Beckham signed with PSG - contract would be for 18 months starting in January.
  6. Me (well most of it anyway - live as well) - and Barça really showed who's boss. I think Neymar made a conscious choice by staying in Brazil; over there, he's the top dog, but in Europe, that wouldn't be so easy (especially on a team full of stars like Real, which was the rumoured destination)
  7. Manchester teams got some nice games in the Europa league: Ajax v Man Utd FC Porto v Man City
  8. CL draw: Olympique Lyon vs APOEL Nicosia Napoli vs Chelsea AC Milan vs Arsenal (best game to look forward to, imho) FC Basel vs Bayern München Bayer Leverkusen vs Barcelona CSKA Moskou vs Real Madrid Zenit St. Petersburg vs Benfica Olympique Marseille vs Internazionale
  9. Looks like a 2 month loan too. 15 goals in 14 matches is rough for Everton. Confirmed as a 2 month loan (1/4 - 2/25): http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/16209648.stm
  10. Willis to the Phillies: Phillies sign Dontrelle Willis to one-year deal
  11. This was an easy decision for the new FO.
  12. There's a disturbing number of ex-Cubs on that list.
  13. Seriously - Mourinho may have his work cut out this week to restore morale after that loss.
  14. Fast and furious start to the game - I wonder how long both teams can keep up this pace..
  15. There's a blurb at the bottom of this article. He seems to be a control pitcher, with a good curve and an efficient slider.
  16. The cap is on signing players, not on resources allocated to international scouting. The Cubs probably have the resources to widen the traditional search area; MLB is holding it's first African academy in Cape Town this week, and I hope there's a Cubs' scout present.
  17. Collective insanity hits the Netherlands whenever they play Germany. Go to Museum Square to watch the game on the big screens. Yep. Already told my fiancé that's where we will be. :-). Better prepare her for this: http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS9kHKCzlXJ6QWNeNhycVS1OjTV4ZS7tWqH8dzFMWI3NcI8MeHa5Q
  18. Kudos to the Samardzija brothers for this: Source: Mister Baseball Europe
  19. Collective insanity hits the Netherlands whenever they play Germany. Go to Museum Square to watch the game on the big screens.
  20. Big night for my favourite soccer team; trailing 3-0 with 15 minutes to go, Club Bruges staged an epic comeback at Maribor (Slovenia) to win 3-4 and preserve their chances to go through to the next round of the Europa League. :yahoo:
  21. In that case, wouldn't both teams need to protect an extra player?
  22. What the numbers can't tell us is what changes in his approach (and I mean habits, stuff he was working on in the off-season, etc...) contributed to these fluctuating results, if they did at all - iirc, his breakout coincided with a visible loss of weight one off-season. Maybe Geo is one of those guys that could benefit from some professional help with his conditioning (and this statement is not an open invitation to continue the eating/ethnicity references, btw)
  23. Were Wigan Warriors the inspiration for that jersey?
  24. According to Dutch sources, the stabbing incident happened at 05h30 this morning in a house in Rotterdam. Dude was 24yrs old - what a waste.
  25. Chelsea down 1-2 at home to Liverpool with just added time to go. ETA: and that's the final score.
