    I didnt realise he was still out there. I would have thought that Dusty would have jumped on him like a vagrant on a passed out crack whore. He really hasnt been that bad for Baltimore. Someone will pick him up. His first year was okay, but he was dreadful last year. He hit .269 with 8 HR and 37 SB. Not great, but I wouldnt call it dreadful. No worse than anything we had in center last season. He had a .690 OPS. The Cubs got a combined .709 OPS out of CF last season. Also, I would call what the Cubs got out of CF last year pretty dreadful.

    Clemens? Unit? Clemens no longer plays. I think Smoltz has as good a case as Randy Johnson. He has the great years in the pen, but if he didn't and remained healthy in the rotation, his numbers would be right on with RJs except for about 750Ks. Plus, Smoltz has to get some credit for still being a top 20 pitcher this late in his career. Unit hasn't been greatly effective the last 3-4 years. I think Smoltz should be in, but his case isn't as good as Johnson's, especially in the eyes of the writers. Five Cy Young's and four other times in the top three makes him 1st ballot for sure.

    It may be polically incorrect but it is spot on. That's why I want mods to determine it's fate. It's spot on? I am not going to be a part of a fiery political debate, I just try not to get involved in those, and I'm sure you know this already but there are obviously other reason than these for why someone would vote for Obama. Which is why I said that I enjoy your humor, but its misguided. I love politics. I love a Presidential election way more than a superball. (the NFL sucks!!!) The last Monkey pimping "change" was William Jefferson Clinton. In my opinion he would have lost in 92 without the help of Perot. How about this; shove your change, I want folding money. And Bush would have lost in 2000 if not for Nader, what's the point? Also, did you really use the term "Monkey"? Seriously. You care more about money in your pocket than changing this horribly run country? Here's a thought, perhaps making some changes, like maybe having a president who can come up with a responsible budget, ( http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hlkG9t2Z4m8UfIya6iQ3-TfTPhRwD8UJON580 ) you might have a little more money in you wallet. I think this thread should be deleted. And I am not easily offended.

    The Baltimore Sun writer was on the radio and said that if the Cubs don't up their offer for Roberts then he doesn't think he'll be traded. I don't see us putting both Gallagher and Marshall in the deal. Maybe Gallagher and Marquis. I see something like Gallagher, Colvin, Cedeno for Roberts and Payton. I would take that! I know some of you guys would be apposed to it since the need at SS, but payton could probably platoon with Pie right? I could platoon with Pie, but just like Jay Payton, I would suck at it.

    I certainly hope not. He's definitely one of the most overrated players of our era. i'd replace andruw jones with torii hunter in this paragraph and agree 100%. But, Andruw Jones is much better than Torii Hunter.

    Vlad would easily be mentioned as a future HOF. I don't think there is any doubt. However, for the purpose of this discussion we are talking about players that are practically already there if their careers were to end this year or the next. I understand the topic.

    Teams don't sign guys to new contracts and then trade them. It's over. Maybe they're just testing the Cubs, and others, to see if they really want him. You know, like when God planted all those dinosaur fossils...to test our faith. Damn...it's over.

    There must be some mistake here...I will not believe that Brian Roberts is more valuable than Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and Carlos Zambrano. How many stolen bases did they give him? 100 while being caught like twice? EDIT: Does he get like 100 AB's more than these guys? (not Z)

We get what, 3 inter-league series outside of Chicago, and we don't play the Red Sox or Yankee's, so we're basically cheating. Our schedule does look pretty good, but still...
