    Have to start two of these three backs: B. Jacobs S. Slaton S. Jackson Jacobs is a lock, so it comes down to Slaton or SJax? I'm leaning Slaton, since the Rams might get behind the Cardinals early and just throw a lot, but still unsure. Other thoughts?

I want someone who understands the Cubs and their fans and isn't just in it from a business perspective Someone who spends $1 billion on anything is going to be doing it from a business perspective. Also, how would an owner work to "understand" Cubs fans, and how would that understanding make him a better owner?

    If the cubs want to also get Hermida along with Peavy it's probably the only way it can be done. Unless the Marlins really value Ty Colvin The only people who want Jeremy Hermida are on this board.

    His ERA+ over the last three years are 110, 122, 125. He's not mediocre.

    Not really. He mostly just writes everything in question format and peppers in the occasional "guh" for emphasis. I think the writers who have spun off Desipio (the Hire Jim Essian guys, mostly) are far better.
