  1. That was incredible
  2. every time someone says "if lebron james played soccer!!!!" i think of how modric would eat his lunch for 90 minutes and laugh He could probably be a good GK, but yeah, the insane skill of guys like Modric is awesome and is about so much more than athleticism.
  3. After Louisville’s coach went to Cincinnati. Arguably both lateral moves, although I understand Brohm is all about going back to his Alma mater. Heard someone make the argument that they think Brohm went to Louisville this time because the talent at Purdue is drying up a bit. First time Louisville went after him, they had Karlaftis, Moore, Bell, etc. and he wanted to ride that out. Now, they think he's not so confident in the last couple recruiting classes and coupled with Matt Painter's seeming disinterest in NIL on the basketball side, Brohm got to Louisville where he's got a fresh start and should have plenty of NIL backing in a conference that seems safe for now from the realignment stuff because of the ACC's grant of rights. Also, with B1G divisions likely going away and the coming addition of USC, their hopes of a conference title are essentially gone. Wouldn't expect a B1G champ other than Michigan, OSU, USC, or maybe PSU unless someone else has a truly special year. ACC seems more winnable
  4. Seems like we need a sort of consolidation trade - a few lower level pitchers and/or bats for a ML bat or a SP we can put at the top of the rotation
  5. Sabol already traded to the Giants for PTBNL and cash
  6. You just know Cards fans are going to turn on him so fast at his first extended slump.
  7. Passan says 5 years, 87.5M
  8. I don't like that. Not sure who the replacement should be, but it hasn't gone well when we've had National Team managers try to go past one cycle
  9. Should at least provide very good CF defense, and hopefully a cromulent amount of offense against RHP. Don't let him hit against any lefties.
  10. That's pretty great news. Need as many competitive games between now and '26 as possible.
  11. I hope they throw around some cash and sign a couple good bats and get a SP we can slot in a playoff rotation, but I'll believe it when I see it.
  12. Well, I'd say this more or less takes the Cubs out on Correa, and maybe Bogaerts. Correa is surely getting a similar contract, and XB could get one slightly lower, both of which seem too high for Poor Tom Ricketts
  13. Rodgers is the biggest dbag. Honestly, he wasn't all that good today, even against a terrible Bears D. The run game carried him.
  14. Jones just completely fooled on that TD
  15. Sanborn might be a decent player. He doesn't look out of place out there. Solid tackler, hasn't been killed in coverage that i've noticed.
  16. just nothing resembling a pass rush
  17. Santos and the ST trying to take command of the tank
  18. We need fullbacks who actually defend with more than speed (Jedi recovers well, but doesn't mark well), healthy CBs, and a striker who can put the ball in the back of the net. But there's a lot of promise and opportunity for growth. Finding a way to get Reyna, Weah, Pulisic, Aaronson on the field with MMA would be great, but idk how you do that. Hoping to see some attacking threats emerge.
  19. if we get one before 60, this gets interesting. If Netherlands score again, it's over
  20. Tenorio says Reyna is out warming up on the field. Hope he has some magic. We've got to get some kind of creativity in and around the box. Put something on goal and see what happens. Just try some horsefeathers.
  21. Honestly, since Gregg isn't going to play anyone up top that isn't a "Striker" on the official roster, there's nowhere to put him. The 11 is built around MMA, you're not going to take off Pulisic, and Weah has been really dangerous over and over. Now, when we see our midfield and/or Weah get tired, we should see subs earlier, and they should be Reyna and Aaronson - Aaronson first if we have a lead, Reyna if we are tied or behind. I'd prefer to give the ball to the guy who starts for Dortmund and dribbles like Maradona. Don't care about position. It's the coach's job to make it happen. Oh I agree, it's just not going to happen with Gregg

  23. Hot take: Edwards is probably a better RB anyway. Of course, you'd love to have both
  24. off a baffling "clearance" from Borjan on first glance, I thought he forgot that Canada was wearing red and was making a pass
  25. suck it, Mexico!
