  1. I think Indy has to trade up. They risk getting the 4th best QB if they sit still. Houston is taking a QB. Bears are trading down with someone. AZ could trade down also if they are offered a crazy package for the 3rd pick and the last of the top 3 QB prospects. I think the Indy pick is one of the best picks the Bears can get. They have a chance to get the best player in the draft this year and next year as I think the Colts will have a tough year. If I'm Poles, I try to get as much out of Indy as I can. If AZ doesn't trade down and takes the guy the Bears covet, they can then consider dropping back again to the team that wants that last top QB prospect. In other words, I feel like the Bears will be in another great spot to trade back a second time (or even a third time if they swapped with Houston, although highly unlikely). Yeah, Colts are an ideal trade partner. It makes so much sense. Division foe that needs a QB is sitting at 2. Years of vet QBs who haven't worked out. Likely going with an offensive coach (thinking Eagles OC gets the job, hence why no hire yet). They really need an identity as a franchise. And they have had good luck (pun intended) with drafting QBs at #1. Plus from the Bears perspective, they could be top 10 bad again next year. Also, as you said, if the Bears really like Carter and/or Anderson it gives them a shot to get either with a trade back. That being said, I think Carolina has close to the same level of desperation. Even down to a division foe potentially getting the QB they want as Tampa and Atlanta could trade up as well (NO has no 1st). Less obvious path to their division foe getting their guy, but also less obvious path to actually sit still and get their guy than the Colts. And if moving down from 1 to 9, you're talking potentially getting an absolute mint for the pick. Poles said he wants value, and if he's not sold on the top guys in this draft, this could be a more desirable trade. Feel like if they go to 9, they're getting 2 picks in each of 24 and 25 in addition to 9 and hopefully Carolina's 2 this year. Then I would guess they pick up an OT (Johnson? Skoronski?) Or maybe the 1st receiver off the board. Think they could get a solid pass rusher in the 2nd.
  2. Probably better for the kid if he doesn't, tbh
  3. Chourio and Salas went from Miami to Minny, didn't they?
  4. I'm all in on Cepeda based solely on the open collar down like 3 buttons and the chain. If he has an MLB logo tat, I'm declaring him the next Javy
  5. Scoot Henderson at 2 would be a good consolation prize.
  6. Can't imagine Houston would give up 2 and 12, maybe 2, 33, and a 2024 2nd? The Seattle deal for 2 seems like a decent chance, but is Seattle going to go after a QB or give Geno Smith a shot with 2 additional 1st rounders added to the roster?
  7. A good FU parting gift to an organization about to fire him after a single season. The Houston Texans is the worst organization in the NFL, by far. And, quite possibly, the worst organization in professional sports. The Washington Commanders might rival their awfulness
  8. Lovie Smith, giving one last gift to Bears fans everywhere
  9. I think the Bears best shot at a better WR is as part of a package for a team moving up to get a QB (Carolina with Moore, Indy with Pittman) - but at the same time it doesn't make sense for a team to move up to get a QB while also trading a good WR. I understand taking a shot on Claypool, but man it'd be nice to have that pick. If we had that, maybe we could move down in rd 1, but then use that early 2 and an extra 3 or whatever we get by trading down from 1/2 to get into the early 20s for a WR
  10. Absolutely no reason to watch now, and 100% the right decision. Dude has been beat up behind that line.
  11. They don't stay in games against good teams. Think about how bad they are. Now think about this team if they trade Kane and Toews. Shoot, even if they get Bedard, they at minimum need a new goalie and a couple new D men before considering being mediocre
  12. I don't know but its insane. I am assuming at least 1-2 of those contracts may turn out to be bad but they have so many locked up long term that they can afford to miss on a couple of them. Even if they're bad, they're only "bad" on like a Bote level in that they're paid more than they're worth, but still not so much that it hinders them from doing anything else.
  13. That snap was atrocious
  14. E-I E-I E-I-U!
  15. Nah, the 100 Million he's giving them in luxury tax payments will buy him plenty of goodwill
  16. Gonna be hilarious when the Mets still miss the playoffs.
  17. seems to be a 24 based on this tweet, that still has the Cubs as favorites to sign him
  18. A number of teams are all in on the soft stuff catchers provide. The Astros with Maltin Maldonado and Yankees with basically everyone they've run out post Gary Sanchez are the prime examples. The Dodgers before Will Smith were leaning on Austin Barnes a lot more than anyone thought they should have too. It's en vogue for a lot of smart teams right now. And like even in our own back yard check out how Cubs pitchers performed last year with Gomes behind the plate vs. with Contreras. It's a stark difference. There's obviously a huge appeal to authority happening here, which isn't great, but at least the Cubs aren't alone in making it. I would very much prefer Perez (who does more of the obvious catcher defense things very well) or Casali (who's a pretty good offensive catcher) even going down this route. I think the only thing Barnhart does well that's quantifiable is hit left handed. One ray of sunshine on the catcher front is Miguel Amaya. Even after missing most of two seasons, he projects very well. He's likely an option in the second half. While the Yankees, Astros, and Dodgers (pre-Smith) have run out mostly defensive catchers, they've also had the luxury of doing so because of their deep lineups. When you have a lineup that doesn't have any below average hitters elsewhere, it's easy to put one at C
  19. When he's not getting killed, Fields is looking really good
  20. When you only have to watch 7 full games to beat the number...
  21. response from Gio on IG (essentially a middle finger in Gregg's direction)
  22. Breaking news, 19 year old kid who has incredible talent is pissed he isn't going to start in the biggest sporting event in the world - the biggest stage imaginable that he's probably dreamed of since the first time he saw his dad play in the same tournament - and handles it poorly. Yeah, put the kid in his place privately and move on, but then for a grown man to throw him under the bus is just stupid. Edit: between this blow-up and his roster selection (Wright and Ferreira over Pefok/Pepi/Vasquez, Ream playing every minute of the WC after not playing a single WCQ after game 1 of the octagonal [which is more of a mistake in regards to qualifying than him playing in the WC]), a failure to rotate the squad in the WC leading to our midfield and FBs being run into the ground and getting destroyed against the Dutch, etc. I don't know how you could keep him.
  23. Apparently Grant Wahl collapsed and died during the Argentina-Netherlands match today and his brother thinks he was murdered.
  24. Also, I'm predicting someone gets a red card in extra time
