  1. Seiya rung up going exactly as far as Turang went...
  2. Yeah, that's the only one that comes close. Even then, a decent starter can be held up by a good bullpen or a good defense.
  3. There is also no other position in football or any other sport that has the importance of a football team's QB. The rest of a team can be mediocre and you will still have a good shot st the playoffs with a good QB.
  4. also, MLB has almost certainly deadened the ball, so a lot of those fly balls that were heading over the fence last year are warning track shots this year
  5. that's a load of crap and we all know it. That was their planned story when someone called them on it
  6. I wouldn't be surprised at a Milwaukee sweep, finally bringing this season to the fiery crash and burn we have all seen coming for 2 months
  7. since they have Caminero and Mead (And Carson Williams, a SS in AA that Keith Law ranked as his 20th overall prospect on June 3rd) I would expect they would want either pitching or OF rather than an infielder
  8. I think the US would be easier for Southgate to manage because it seemed like a large part of his issue with England was team selection and there just aren't as many good options on the USMNT roster. And for as ugly as it was, you can't argue that he got results.
  9. and of course it took an absolutely legendary stretch from their starting pitching in the playoffs, a weird ALCS G2 thing where Pierzynski reached on a maybe dropped 3rd strike, big HRs from such legendary dongsmiths as Tadahito Iguchi (go ahead HR in G2 of ALDS), Joe Crede (go ahead HR in G1 of WS), Scott Podsednik (Walkoff HR in G2 of WS), and Geoff Blum (go ahead HR in the 14th inning of G3 of the WS)
  10. I do believe that WAR accumulated from defense is less valuable generally than WAR from offense. Ultimately, I think a team of average defenders with above average bats is going to win more games than a team of average bats and above average defenders. Maybe I'm dumb for believing that, and maybe it's bias based on watching the Cubs the last 2 years who seem to have been built as a defense-heavy team with a good number of solid but not spectacular bats.
  11. Why did they ever go away from the 10 out format?
  12. You get the best players.
  13. could be off base... but I think it was the Shakira part that was the bad take edit: I'm an idiot and missed that you called people thugs... the problems getting in were due to the match organizers...
  14. Clark showing some power... who needs pants?
  15. I think he's got legit power, and I saw more than a few highlights from the minors of him putting similar swings on balls down in the zone.
  16. Thought Montgomery might fall... Boston makes sense though
  17. Only 3 more picks ahead of the Cubs... Montgomery and Yesavage still on the board... Tibbs and Cam Smith too... guaranteed a shot at 1 of them
  18. dongs everywhere... and another! Morel has hit those 2 so dang hard... Fire Boog, keep Cohen
  19. but only the competitive balance picks can be traded
