    I want to know what the context of the conversation was that lead him to discuss the FA market in 2015. Is one or both of the Cubs TV deals up then? Is that the year they are looking at creating some some sort of Cubs Network and/or signing a huge TV deal with a provider? Thus having major increased revenue to jump into the FA market that year? According to Brett's article over at Bleacher Nation, 2015 is when the overall MLB cable deal kicks in and that will apparently make $25-$50 million for every team. http://www.bleachernation.com/2012/11/04/the-gm-meetings-are-coming-this-week-and-other-bullets/

    While Durant is an exceptional player, and an unbelievable scorer, I don't think that OKC as they presently stand (or even when they had Harden as the 3rd of their top 3 instead of Ibaka) can compare to SA's top 3. Ginobili and Harden (last year) are very similar, and without looking I do think Harden was likely more efficient scoring, but they were very similar players. Parker was a very good PG, but not on Westbrook's level athletically. I still don't think that advantage is that great though. Tim Duncan is one of the best big men to ever play the game. While Durant is great, Duncan is one of the best of all-time. Durant may yet get there, but Duncan already carried his teams to 4 titles.

    Going by his offer sheet, I would hope not. Looks like Groce is gonna go after the big boys or fail trying. I am OK with this course of action. Tyler Griffey's/Bill Cole's are pretty much the exact type of player I don't want to see at Illinois anymore. On that note... Xavier Rathan-Mayes is apparently visiting UI this weekend...
