  1. wow... only gotta go 53 or so on the hail mary... easily doable
  2. 7 straight points to cut the lead to 21... Lol
  3. And they'd probably be fine with paying his salary rather than giving up a better prospect if the Cubs eat salary, right?
  4. He definitely had great production, but my point was that evidence points to it at least partially being a product of the system. I don't doubt that TD was a very talented back, bu much like I said earlier about Arian Foster, I don't think he was as good as the numbers. I think Shanahan's zone blocking scheme that has turned duds (Mike Anderson, Olandis Gary, Alfred Morris, etc) into highly productive backs made a good running back great with TD. That was my point. OK, that makes a lot of sense.
  5. Good point. If Dennison were to bring the same zone scheme to Chicago, though, the Bears likely would be able to move away from Forte once it became financially worth it to do so. Other than Portis, I'm not sure Shanahan has ever had a "great" back, but he always has a really good run game. And while I think Arian is a talented back, he's not nearly as good as he's been in Houston. With that scheme, you can go cheap at RB and still be productive, opening you up to spending more money elsewhere. I think that even though his was short-lived success, the degree of success that Terrell Davis had would lead me to consider him a "great" back. He averaged over 1600 yards per year (including a 2,008 yard season), 4.75+ per carry on 330+ carries per year before his knee exploded. The caveats of him playing with Elway and some pretty talented receivers apply, but I think it's enough to consider him a "great" back.
  6. Personally, I'm not super keen on college coaches coming to the NFL. I know some have worked out recently, but I can't get over that mindset. While I know they're probably more exception than the rule, doesn't New England kinda run a version of Kelly's offense already? Maybe not for entire games, but I'm pretty sure they basically run the same type of offense when they go to their hurry-up.
  7. Biggs' article mentioned that all Bears TEs combined for 29 catches this year, last among all NFL teams for catches among TEs. That number was beaten by 32 different TEs individually
  8. I went Hernandez, Amaya, and Torreyes, all pretty much interchangeable for me
  9. thought Forte was going to fumble...
  10. and the Bears have to call timeout after the Lions called timeout. Beautiful
  11. they will probably onside kick... no need to fear the Bears O, Tice will call a screen pass, a run into the line, and a fade up the sideline
  12. Major Wright just got a penalty for hitting a guy in the stomach
  13. Detroit needs to fire Schwartz... this team just doesn't look interested in playing today which is great for the Bears...
  14. great rush up the middle by Izzy
  15. should be a fumble since he was clearly not throwing it, right?
  16. I was thinking the same thing. Peppers can play 5 tech and possibly 3-4 OLB on certain plays. The only question I have are where Melton/Paea/Wooten/etc fit in a 3-4? I think Melton could play the 3-4 DE... seems athletic enough and strong enough... Paea might be undersized for the nose though and Wootton wouldn't seem to be big enough for the DE either...
  17. Beckham could probably play third, right? maybe stick him there til Gyorko is ready?
  18. thanks sneaky, overlooked that... but still, impressive numbers
  19. and when you consider that (i'm pretty sure) some of those guys ahead of Vitters play in big time hitters parks, he looks even better
  20. Underwood Lake Candelario
