  1. screw it, let's get crazy and go to soccer-style 2 game playoffs between the wild card teams and 2 worst division winners. Home and home series with best run differential advancing, away runs is first tiebreaker. If even after 2 games, Extra innings start with everyone available, can redo your lineup completely, winner determined by normal baseball extra innings rules. disclaimer: I know this will never happen, just fun to think of how stupid it could get.
  2. They've gotta be going QB right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Mike Dudek (Illinois WR who was freshman All-American) has torn his ACL for the 2nd straight year in a spring non-contact drill
  4. http://i.imgur.com/wJ5fcq8.png not in the least. Just wanted an excuse to post that article. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
  5. he gained the courage by following Mike Olt's MLB career nah, it was Mark Reynolds who inspired him. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=19409
  6. Soler's could not be more perfect. another observation: "I Will Always Love You" was number 1 for a long time.
  7. No, the game literally ended on the Illinois rule. Refresh my memory? The under 2 minute replay rule came about because of the Illinois-Miami RD 2 NCAA game where a ball went off Miami but was called off Illinois in the last minute or so with Illinois trailing by like 5.
  8. I think it should go to Valentine too. But Yogi will get strong consideration. He's the unquestioned leader and best player on the conference champion. Oh no doubt he should get strong consideration, and if he's no unanimous 1st team all-B1G it's a joke, but I just don't think they can put him over Valentine when they really get down to it. He's probably been the 2nd best by far though. Uthoff was very good for a stretch, but Iowa collapsing has to kill his chances. Trimble has struggled far too much to be considered for POY. Hayes has been good but not that good. OSU, PU, UM, don't really have any candidates for POY.
  9. No way Yogi should be B1G POY, Valentine is just better even though Yogi has been great
  10. Also, one pick was the difference between Kyle Fuller and Aaron Donald
  11. WAR can definitely go down if you play poorly. However, assuming good health and good play it will go up of course.
  12. They can't rule against the Cubs without ruling against all the other teams who have done it, right?
  13. On one hand, I hope the Dodgers gave up Urias and Seager for a (potentially historically great) RP. On the other, I kind of hope they didn't because even though Cincy sucks right now, I think those two will be awesome and would rather not deal with them being in the division
  14. That would make me mad unless it involves a big time guy the Cubs just don't have
  15. How long until the announcers make a comment along the lines of "Maybe they should ask Favre to suit up" ?
  16. Another weak call that favors GB
  17. So that's two incredibly iffy penalties that have wiped out a Bears interception that led to 7 points for GB and one that wiped out a big first down for Chicago.
  18. I really want the Cubans, can never have too many talented arms and they will cost relatively little in terms of money compared to the potential they possess.
  19. well, looks like Stewart is headed to Philly to be the Union Sporting Director. http://sbisoccer.com/2015/10/union-hire-earnie-stewart-as-sporting-director
  20. Sure. He's a very good coach. He wouldn't be my top choice necessarily, but it's always kind of been understood that he'll be the USMNT coach at some point. He's as good as any MLS manager who would be up for it outside of Arena who probably doesn't want to work for Sunil Gulati again. Thanks (and thanks to USSoccer too - love your point - if you're not Jurgen, you've already got an advantage) I thought Kreis was very well-regarded. Who would be your top choice that's realistic?
  21. So...what is Jurgen doing then? Just losing games? Not re-working our youth dev model? Cool. Cool cool cool. Fired. That article also has a tidbit about Kreis and NYCFC parting ways and Patrick Viera coming in to coach. Good to see that club is as expensive a disaster as I'd figure it would be. Some MLS club will be very lucky to get Kreis who is an unfortunate victim of outside ownership not understanding MLS even a little bit but still dictating terms. This is Red Bulls firing Bruce Arena after one season all over again. Thoughts on Jurgen being replaced by Kreis potentially?
  22. please, just don't give up a run in the first inning
  23. Holy [expletive], that would be a complete disaster. So what would it take for us to get Harper after he asks to be traded away from that [expletive]? Vogelbach, McKinney, and Edwards? /s This inspired me to look up a list of youngest players in the majors, and while it took more work than anticipated, here's a short list of players older than Bryce Harper: Mookie Betts Xander Bogaerts Blake Swihart Joc Pederson Gregory Polanco Maikel Franco Manny Machado Kris Bryant Jorge Soler Baez is a little over a month younger than Harper Schwarber about 6 months younger Good grief is it insane to think of how good Harper is even though he is so young
  24. wasn't nervous at all... then I started reading this thread
  25. Paredes, Isaac SS R/R 5’12 175 02/18/99 love the listing for Paredes... 5'12''
