They don't get a 3 year contract like the first rounders, meaning if they don't show something pretty quickly, they're either off to the D-League or out of the NBA altogether. There are notable exceptions (Gilbert Arenas was a 2nd rounder, for example), but usually it's not worth leaving college early unless you're more or less guaranteed to be a 1st rounder) Other notable 2nd rounders include Ginobli, Boozer, Rodman, Hornacek, Ceballos, Redd and Lewis, but the odds of "making it" as a 2nd rounder aren't great

Since you need it spelled out for you, the theory has long been that Wrigley insulates the Cubs from the sort of performance-based attendance cycles you're describing. If that's not so true anymore, it's a story. It's a story. I don't know where the obstinance originates. I don't think one data point early in the season means a whole lot, but I suspect if the Cubs are sub .500 come May there will be plenty of games like yesterday. That's why it's not a story. Who here honestly thought that the Cubs would been drawing near-capacity crowds if they had or with the promise of another mediocre (or worse) year? it's a story because the Cubs coasted through several terrible seasons in the 00's without a noticeable drop in ticket sales. the story is that the sales are finally catching up to the quality of the product

12. Penn State Minny will challenge you. But yeah, you're losing a lot. I'm thinking Purdue in the 3-5 range. Obviously worse if Hummel goes down again. PSU was 5 deep and will be losing 4 starters. They'll be lucky to win 10 games next year
