Notre Dame vs. Ohio St. is akin to a White Sox vs Cardinals World Series. You somehow hope no one wins. Any combo of those two and Miami also qualifies. That O$U/Miami NC game was painful

- Mets will sign Grudz post Dec. 7th - Beane wants Milledge for Zito, Gammons doesn't think Mets have young pitcher to go with him in a deal. - Phillips thinks Mets should still go for Manny, which probably makes it a bad idea. - Gammons thinks Manny will remain a Red Sox (though he had a hilarious string of trades that would get him to the Mets, including Milledge, Heilman, Floyd, Sexson, Glaus...)

- Furcal, Loaiza and Byrd deals set market really high. Expect Damon, etc. to get big bucks - Ripple effect is also going to be felt next year with FA's like Mark Mulder (who is clearly better than Burnett) - Everyone seems to think that Furcal's contract is crazy, as he's not a marquee guy and he won't put butts in the seats.

- Trend of teams making deals/signings projecting where they will be down the road as opposed to this coming season (Mets, Toronto) - Gammons thinks 3 years is smart for Furcal, as he'll go back on the market at age 30. - Cubs were sure they were getting Furcal. Braves are pissed. - Cubs target Pierre, Gathright, Wilkerson (duh). - INTERESTING: Gammons says Cubs need a SS so Cedeno can play 2B.

Why does Ryno hate me? -
Why does everyone in their fantasy lineup keep bumping Aramis down to 5? When healthy, he's the best pure hitter we have in the lineup. Lee's a great player, but I think Aramis is more likely to put up those numbers consistently. or have Murton #2, which will never happen
