  1. That was David Bowie's nickname for him
  2. Well the Cuse/Iowa series starts up this fall. You'll get to see another one of those teams up close. We used to do really well against Big 10 teams until the last Purdue game...yikes. I'm looking forward to the Iowa and Northwestern series we have coming up. As for top team, who did Penn State lose? I thought they had a heck of a team too. Penn State lost its QB, and most of the O-line, D-line and secondary but returning theur starting HB, FB, TE, LB's, WR's and special teams. Losing 4 starters on the O-Line worries me most
  3. STOP THAT :x
  4. I don't know what your musical tastes are, but Primus is definitely worth a listen. Les Claypool is (in my opinion) the best bass player in the history of rock music (better than Flea and Geddy Lee) and bass is the primary instrument in the band (while guitar is more of a rhythm/texture). Sailing the Seas of Cheese is my favorite album.
  5. you might be surprised on that last statement. agreed
  6. There will be much controversy I'm sure. I was never fully satisfied with all the rankings, but you only have 4 of each "seed". Clearly this is reflective of my own biases as well as some attempt at historical accuracy. But when it comes down to it, some people might put, say, Nirvana as a #3 and others as a #14. It's all a matter of opinion. But this is just for fun, so vote for your favorites. It won't take long before the decisions will get really hard.
  7. me too.....it's sick. John could have any woman in the world and he picked her....although I don't think he picked her, I think she's a witch who stole his soul or something. Now the girls in your sig, THEY have.....oh wait, sorry, this isn't the Hottest Chick contest.
  8. Of course he did. Wouldn't want to clog those bases.
  9. i've seen the black and white photos of John and Yoko in the buff. She NEVER had perky boobies
  10. way closer than it should be
  11. The thing is, I'm not sure how having disagreements with Baker would keep Rothschild from doing things like helping to improve the control of our pitchers or trying to get our starting pitchers to become more economical, though. I'm sure Baker isn't telling Rothschild to make sure every young pitcher coming up from the farm system remains a wild man or that everybody on our staff should be turned into home run derby pitchers. Rothschild really needs to go with the rest of them. How do you have 23 posts? I'm confused JR =/= J.R.
  12. I completely agree. Mustaine got booted out of Metallica and was perpetually 2 albums behind. Lived in that shadow for 25 years now
  13. wait till you see the 8 vs. 9 matchups
  14. i'm pretty sure it says, "vote for your fav." it doesn't say, "vote for the band you think influenced 60's culture and rock music the most," does it? stop getting your panties in a wad because, gasp, some people don't like the beatles Sure, but the whole idea of the tournament is to determine the best band. The only top 64 list Megadeth should appear on is the list of bands that once performed at the county fair. Whether you like the Beatles or not (and I do not particularly care for them), it's laughable to consider Megadeth to be a better band. Megadeth is not a better band (IMO), but they are certainly better than the county fair. 15 million records sold over a 20+ year span. Mustaine and Co. will always be the red-headed stepchild of metal, but they certainly had a strong thing going for many years.
  15. 1) Johnson was pitching from a full stretch with no slide step 2) Johnson never looked at Crawford even once 3) Crawford was halfway down the line before Johnson started his slow delivery
  16. sweet, this is the third thread on this subject!
  17. sweet, what was his old banned screen name? Inquiring minds want to know!
  18. I like the Flaming Lips 10000000x better than the Stones
  19. which gets locked first, this thread or the one in transactions?
  20. Dave Ducan waves his magic wand and he'll win 15 games in the second half
  21. doesn't anyone without this many posts get scolded for something like this? he will. Mod just hasn't seen it yet
  22. Dear Cubs, Please get a closer whose middle name isn't "Heart Attack" Regards, EVERYONE
  23. what's happening? The fate of this team is hanging in the balance!
  24. Kruk really knows baseball because of that really funny thing he did when Johnson threw at him in the All-Star game. Good times. he preceded this comment about how he really didn't want to play in the ASG but the NL made him since the fans voted him in. Awesome.
