well, as that desipio post said, it's more about matching salaries than talent. salaries HAVE to match for an NBA trade to go through, and you have all these limitations on Hinrich and Nocioni. it's sorta ridiculous how hard it is to make it happen -

yeah, for all the complaining we do about the team right now, I always look back to when I started being a Cubs fan (circa 1992) and feel slightly better. At least we have expectations now. Clearly the only expectations in those days was to find enough players to field a team and maybe sell 15,000 seats per game

i love the OT system and wish the NFL would adopt it Really? I think it's terrible. I wish college would use Sudden Death like the NFL does. There's just way too many instances of games going to 3rd and 4th overtimes in college, which is awesome

+1 This is the dumbest idea ever. The WS format is fine. If MLB wants to change anything, make the ASG an exhibition game again and give the team with the best record home field advantage at every stage of the playoffs, including the WS. that makes way too much sense. clearly we need to alternate years or let a lucky fan decide who wins
