  1. Have you heard Stone on WSCR? He would probably be the worst GM. Have you seen some of the actions of current GMs? Granted Littlefield is gone now, but Jim Bowden and Wayne Krivsky are still gainfully employed. Whoever's running Baltimore now too.(Duquette? though whoever it is, I'd blame Angelos more than anyone else.) Isn't Andy MacPhail the Baltimore GM? i thought he was the team prez?
  2. Pence ran in on it. He misplayed it. Possible, maybe likely he doesn't catch it, but he definitely misplayed it somewhat. well it was a screamer right at him, hardest play to judge. he never would have caught it even if he had gone back and to his right
  3. i don't get it 15 LOB last night that is the only thing in there that you possibly couldn't get i think... i was unaware of the exact number of men LOB. i just knew we had 21 baserunners and scored 4 runs
  4. replay shows that Pence didn't misplay that ball on the triple. that thing was by him before he knew what happened
  5. agreed. a division race is not the time to "work out the holes in your swing"
  6. strangely, i am really looking forward to Floyd's next at bat
  7. Have you heard Stone on WSCR? He would probably be the worst GM. so yeah, perfect, let him GM some other team in the Central
  8. give Lee the day off tomorrow pretty please kthxbye
  9. Dear Soriano, Just because you CAN hit balls around your ankles doesn't mean you HAVE TO swing at every ball around your ankles Regards, EVERYONE
  10. have you seen hill run/field? it's pretty obvious that he's a lousy athlete. it's why I hate the DH in minor league ball. I realize that it helps you develop more hitters, but it atrophies your pitchers hitting ability really badly I love it, pitchers in A ball and lower don't need to waste their time learning how to bunt and whatnot. yeah, but if really good-hitting pitchers from high school and college kept hitting all the way through the system, then their spot in the lineup in the majors wouldn't be an automatic out Indeed, but I think they should spend as much of their development time pitching. that's not mutually exclusive. i'm not advocating spending extra time in the cages or batting practice or anything, just let them hit. I guess they're out to protect the pitchers from getting hurt on the bases

  13. you were saying? Oh wait, baseball allows 3 outs per inning? Crap :) yeah, they changed that this year
  14. how can rich hill suck at the plate SO MUCH? aren't pitchers usually the best hitters in high school?
  15. that was hit too hard to be misplayed
  16. Sacrifice Bunts are sometimes good ideas. If Luke Scott had bunted, there would be two people in scoring position with one out. He did not and they had to give up two outs just to get the runners over. You're right, and had we had runners on 1st and 2nd, no out, last night it probably would've been a good idea. But you don't sac bunt with a guy who has only 1 GIDP since he came here, is hitting .289, and doesn't strike out very often. I realize that, I did not say it was a good idea with Kendall, I was saying that sacrifice bunts are not all evil. Derwood didn't say they were all evil either, but okay. right, i was specifically talking about bunting with Kendall. Why didn't we call that hit and run play last night?
  17. sorry that i'm late to the party here, but THAT (kendall's at bat) was why sac bunts were so damn stupid last night
  18. Northwestern plays Syracuse too? The Orange are working their way through the Big 10 it seems (Illinois this year, PSU and NU next year, etc.)
  19. It's just amazing how bad these teams are. Cubs with this pitching staff should be running away with this division. It feels like 2004. MLB should come to the decision that the Cubs and Brewers can combine their teams for the playoffs. They take the Cubs pitching and the Brewers offense. That might give them a chance to not get swept in the 1st round. The Milcago Brewbies?
  20. i don't think you know what you're saying. the # of managers out there worse than Piniella is staggering
