    A-Rod deserves his money. I am just thankful that my team has decided to spend all that money more wisely. the problem is that the Yankees front office has failed to show that they are very good at spending wisely these days. they throw truckloads of cash at players who are past their prime and on the downside of their careers and then wonder why those players either suck or get hurt. You have faith that the team that invested millions in Pavano, Wright, Damon, Giambi, etc. is really going to spend that A-Rod cash wisely? They're more likely to trade for Rolen or something

    I'll take my team of non-Yankees (A-Rod, Sheffield, Clemens, Big Unit) and face off against yours of True Yankees (Jeter, Cano, Cabrera) and we'll see who wins in a 7 game series

    how did Derek "Mr. Yankee" Jeter do this postseason? there is no team in baseball that would not be greatly improved by adding Alex Rodriguez. None

    oh, found this funny. Paterno sounds like the Joe Morgan of College Football: re: Scouting high school prospects i also heard him on his call in show today and caught it in the middle of him explaining why he thought football should get rid of face-masks. i wish i'd heard all of it

    oh, no doubt. this Penn State team is not built to deal with SEC speed at all. I don't think it would even be close

    i've been predicting PSU vs. FLA ever since FLA got its 3rd loss. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they met in either the Capitol One (if PSU can get 3rd place) or the Outback

    i wouldn't at all be surprised if Boston made a few head-scratching trades/FA signings, only to have it come out that the people they traded away are on Mitchell's list

    What's the problem? Every feature we had on the old premium we have on this phpbb3, the only difference is there are a few adds. Tim has already explained why it's taking a little while; cut him some slack. I'm not trying to be a jerk....he can have all the slack he needs...I'm just not a fan of the adds at all, they annoy the crap out of me...I finally figured out how to turn off all the photos/avatars/sigs on phpbb3...which makes viewing a bit easier...all that stuff was auto off for me on the old board and I missed it....in all, its not "bad"...I just don't like change...especially change attached to google adds. :lol: BF Vista has no google ads. Just sayin' way to ruin for everyone

    i think it's safe to say that while Jones/Catcher regain form, other players will balance it out by sucking badly.

    maybe they think they can make more by selling the team and leasing the stadium to the new owner than by selling it outright

    If by superstar you mean 30 points etc no he wont be. Deng can and will average 20-25 points 5-7 boards which is pretty damn good. You put Kobe on this team with Deng, and I think the 2 of them would work beautifully together. Dengs ability to slash to the basket would finally be used how it should. right. Kobe would be his "jordan" which would allow Deng to be fantastic in the "pippen" role. but we saw what pippen did with the team when jordan wasn't around (hint: nothing)

    how about we have a live ump, but whenever his call differs from what QuesTec detects as a ball or strike, he gets a few volts of electricity pumped through his sack?

    i'm not as high on Deng as some others are. I think you have to keep him, but he'll never be a superstar. if you want to make an analogy, he Deng might be Scottie Pippen, but until he has a Michael Jordan to play with him, he'll never lead the team anywhere

    I couldn't disagree more. Do you really want to see the home ump eliminated in baseball? Maybe it's the conventionalist in me, but I'd absolutely hate to see the day when balls and strikes are called by some robot. The game is becoming less pure every year; adding "electronic verification", as you call it, would just make it worse. what could be less pure than a floating strike zone?

    nothing was worse (for me) than Penn State losing to Iowa 6-4 a few years back
