1. Ok EJ can I sig this?Seriously? Ok I cant figure this crap out lol
He couldn't have hit that pitch with Geo's penis. He missed that by a mile.
Quote this post and then copy and past the text that is within the code. Fixed? those random forward slashes around EJ are effing you up
2. I guess the good part about Soto continuing to rake and show good defensive abilities is that I'm actually starting to believe Hendry and Lou would be comfortable heading into 2008 with Geo penciled in as the starter. i almost know Lou would. it's convincing Hendry not to sign Kendall to an extension that is the hard part
3. Ok EJ can I sig this?Seriously? Ok I cant figure this crap out lol should be
the stuff
4. i thought the White Sox fans had cornered the market on blaming everyone else on their own team's suckiness
5. just a minor understatement there :P well you know things are going well when your starter gets shelled and you still win by 5
6. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/435043.jpg Zach Duke (3-7, 5.70) vs. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/448179.jpg Rich Hill (9-8, 4.01) KEEP ON TRUCKING
7. looks like i missed a wild one today
8. If we say let's compare Dunn with A Rod then he does. would I want him on my team? Ya But he did insult our grounds crew so probably not Wow, great analysis. If you compare almost anyone to ARod they look bad, seeing as he's the best player in the game. and that was the point, I am not a big believer in Adam Dunn. I believe if we are going to waste 100 million on a person let's waste 130 for ARod and not for a strike-out king like Dunn. or we could not waste money
9. as long as they don't reintroduce the blue alternates next year, i'll be happy I loved those! I know I'm in the minority but I wouldn't be sad to see those come back at all. I'm fine with them as long as they're only on designated days, rather than pitcher's choice that ended up being more often than not. and if they completely redesigned them so as to not make them look hideous
10. Felix Pie. He has to develop and grow as a player somehow, you know? yes, and that time is Spring Training 2008
11. on a side note, everyone who was annoyed when all their co-workers suddenly had brand new Sox caps 2 years ago are going to really hate the number of fair-weather Cubs fans who suddenly appear in October.
12. then i don't think you understand the question The question posed by the OP is pretty clear: It's a ridiculous question - why do we give a rat's ass about this type of "fan"? Who cares? It's not the case for 99.9% of the posters on NSBB. i don't think people "like" that the team hasn't won in 99 years. however, i think that once the team does win, you won't see a ton of support for the team if/when they tank again. the comparison to the Red Sox doesn't hold water, as Boston was a perennial playoff team before 2004 and since. the Cubs have showed no ability to put together two straight postseason years much less a decade of them. do people really think that Wrigley will be filled to the rafters every day if the Cubs put up a 95 loss team after winning it all? I don't That's the worst argument I think I've ever read on here. The Cubs wouldn't be selling out if they post a 95 loss season no matter what. Look what happend at the end of last year. This entire thread is a text book example of specious reasoning. I don't get it. It's moronic to conclude that winning would hurt the Cubs in popularity, even if they suck the next year. you're being narrow-minded. how many "fans" are hanging in there to say they were fans when the team finally wins (and would quickly jump ship afterwards)? and please, don't take this as meaning that I don't want them to win. i could really give a crap what fair weather fans do after the Cubs win it. i'm just making an argument

15. I'm all over it... i'll PM you if I need the help. I can start Saturday's thread for sure if we win this afternoon
16. It's a mystery down there? wow, I must have been tired. I meant to say "without my groin ever exploding"
17. i mentioned this a few weeks ago. you will lose a lot of bandwagon fans, but not enough to really mean much to the team's bottom line
18. i will be thrilled to get through life without my groin ever explained
19. has he played his game at catcher yet?
20. if we're fortunate enough to still be winning on saturday, someone may have to pinch-hit for me as game thread starter. don't know if i'll have the laptop with me on vacation
21. none of those links work
22. as long as they don't reintroduce the blue alternates next year, i'll be happy
23. at least they're not red
