  1. Jim won't announce it tomorrow though, as he doesn't want to steal the spotlight from the Luis Gonzalez signing in Florida
  2. somehow there are 8 teams with worse records than the bulls right now
  3. did they show a lot of shots of KU chicks crying in the crowd? those are my favorite
  4. as part of a deal to net us GreeneWow it took 29 posts before His name got thrown into the discussion. I was wondering how He could be incorporated into this thread. Kudos. On another note, mmmm....Crisp Pie... and only 34 posts for someone to make a Pie/food joke
  5. http://widgetcenter.espn.go.com/widgets/tags/MLB/Player/Chicago%20Cubs You can add player widgets to your iGoogle, facebook, myspace, blogspot, typepad, etc. pages. Don't you want to have GEOVANY SOTO staring back at you every time you boot up?
  6. yeah, so a 10:17 scoring drought won't win you a ton of games there PSU
  7. what a weird game. nearly 1/2 way through the 2nd half and not a single free throw shot since halftime. nothing but turnovers and chucked up three's on both sides
  8. PSU and OSU tied at the half
  9. just imagine what Prior would be demanding contract-wise had he stayed healthy
  10. i think the concept of "contract years" is half fiction and nearly impossible to prove
  11. He hit .293 which would've been towards the top for this team. Not to mention the 60+ SBs he brings to the table. I'd rather have Pie in CF just for the sake of developing a young guy by letting him play. But if he goes, I'd take Pierre over w/e trash you have in mind (Byrd?) any day. i have never once advocated adding Byrd. and he hit .293? Wow. His IsoD was .34. That's horrendous. His OPS was .684. Good god. He had a whopping 33 walks in 729 PA's. Juan Pierre is not terribly good at baseball. and as i've said, 60 steals is nice and all, but he was caught 15 times, which negates 15 of the times he got on base (which he didn't do very often). Also, for a "speedy" guy, he managed just 24 doubles and 8 triples in a pitcher's park.
  12. so penn state loses by, what, 30 to ohio state tonight?
  13. it's not in an MLB authorized park
  14. #-o Will someone please put a zipper on Gammons. he just pissed off Peter Angelos. GREAT
  15. Gomez and Humber are major league ready, Mulvey probably doesn't need more than half the season. major league ready on a bad team or a good team? there's a reason they weren't playing on the Mets
  16. so much for the Twins wanting major league ready talent in return
  17. maybe could've matched in terms of prospects, but not in the ability to extend him 5/110 or 7/150
  18. FWIW, i was asking the question in general, not because i didn't think it was worth it
