  1. dang, i once again didn't do enough research on my WC. Lots of people taking Hamilton, I went with Edwin Ecarnacion. Oh well.
  2. are stats from the Japan series counting for us?
  3. he could do it considering the 750 PA's he'll get leading off all year
  4. i'm all for signing a platoon guy for Pie rather than trading for one (if that's what Hendry is intent on doing).
  5. 205. Ryan "Donnie" Garko 206. Ubaldo Jimenez 207. Nate McLouth
  6. i think you mean "Send in the Clowns," from Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music" /shame Yes. I am ashamed I screwed this up. i was ashamed to know what you're talking about. /ok, not really //i lit a production of that show, so.....yeah
  7. that's a pretty low projection for a guy with a career OBP over .370 against LHP
  8. he was definitely on the Bartolo Colon diet for awhile there
  9. I'd take him for that. 2nd day picks are a crapshoot anyways. The last 5th round pick that actually turned out well was probably Herschel Walker back in '85. Now it's all about what kind of money and playing time he expects to get. yeah, there haven't been any 6th round players to lead their teams to 4 Super Bowls recently
  10. 196. Corey Patterson 197. Hiroki Kuroda 198. Johnny Peralta 199. Mark Prior 200. Jay Bruce 201. Mark Reynolds 202. Manny Parra
  11. and so the Theriot at leadoff nightmare begins
  12. Or why Lieber was signed in the first place If I were a betting man, and I am, I'd bet that Lou and Hendry think one of Marquis/Dempster is going to be gone before the trading deadline, and that Lieber is expected to be the "steady veteran" who steps in to take their place. and better to spend money to sign that guy as an FA now than to trade prospects for him at the deadline
  13. maybe putting Marquis in the pen lowers his trade value ;)
  14. they are only doing it every few years
  15. Give em Marquis or Dempster. Their rotation is a mess anyway. crap, Lieber would be the ace of that staff right now.
  16. i knew we should've signed A-Rod
  17. http://www.uncov.com/assets/2007/6/29/fry-see-what-you-did-there-scaled.jpg
  18. i think you mean "Send in the Clowns," from Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music" /shame
  19. we'll remember to include ABBA and The Osmonds for you next time
  20. I never understood why people trust projectons, I really don't. There are too many varibles that these projections sites don't take into account and/or don't appreciate. Porjections are fun for the fans, but I highly doubt too many clubs take projections seriously, and that includes Oakland and Boston. With that said, I prefer Johnson over DeVanon. i didn't either until i started comparing last season's projections against the actual numbers and saw how close they were
  21. Jair Jurrjens sounds like a character from Star Wars
  22. let's not use one month of spring numbers to judge who goes to the pen and who goes to the rotation, okay?
  23. i wouldn't wish AC/DC on anyone
  24. While Felix Pie has really crushed the ball in the major leagues, right? So I guess it's safe to assume he'll be horrible, too? As I said in another post, when the Chicago Cubs start playing the Omaha Royals - let me know. Cedeno raked in the minor leagues - why isn't he starting in front of Theriot? His minor league stats suggest he should... Pie is 23 years old and Theriot is 28
