  1. At least it'll be the weekend games this time. I need at least 45 minutes of Bartman/Goat/Black Cat footage before every game
  2. I'm assuming that all first pitches will be at about 9:45 eastern time per usual ;)
  3. Colin Cowherd is about the least aware person I can think of
  4. My only problem with Theriot near the top is his propensity for bad base-running I also have an issue with DeRosa and Soto being buried in the bottom of the order My suggestion of Edmonds at #4 was just to "break up the righties" Theriot's baserunning hasn't been good, but what difference does it makes if he makes out on the basepaths hitting 2nd or 8th? And your guys that have been buried at the bottom of the order have put up great years and had tons of guys on base when they come to bat. Ramirez, Edmonds, Fukudome and Derosa have gotten on base better than Soriano and Lee most of the year. Would you rather have Theriot trying to knock in the guys who get on base the most? Way too much attention is paid to the lineup order, when it doesn't matter as long as the best players are in it. it matters insofar as I want DeRosa and Soto to have more AB's over the course of the year than Lee and Theriot

  6. I just like how I made an offhand comment about the sniping between SEC and Pac-10 fans resulted in a full blown, multi-paragraph resume of the SEC's dominance of the universe.
  7. assuming Soriano is stuck at leadoff: Soriano DeRosa Ramirez Edmonds Soto Lee Fukudome Theriot
  8. I missed it. I usually flip channels during the stretch
  9. Vance laid a turd in the final couple of weeks. He was in 1st place from Week 1 but slipped to #3 in the final week or two
  10. There is no pissing match. Historically the SEC has handled their business against all comers in football. Pac 10 didn't become relevent again, until USC started to win. Legit question, not trying to sound obxious but......if UCLA had to play either Florida, GA, or perhaps even LSU (and to a lesser degree either Alabama (and not a Alabama probation team they did a few yrs ago, but THIS YEARS Bama), and Auburn you think UCLA would have won? Prolly not. I know for a fact LSU/GA/Florida would have stomped UCLA (and chances are one of those three could and should beat USC---on the flip USC could and should beat any SEC team) into the ground. Sorry dew, but Tennessee was one SEC team I thought was severely overrated. And I don't know if people in non-SEC schools know this, but Vols fans are more the ready to send that rat fink on a bus ticket out Tennessee any day now. I'm not going to diminish UCLA's victory, and it was a great win for the Bruins, but on the flip side they did survive the game at home. So, it came to no surprise they beat Tennessee in UCLA, as they should. As for any "pissing match", there isn't one. Until the Pac 10 has more then one legit NT contender, they are just another wannabe contender to the best conference in football. With that said, event ho they are not in SEC class, I still ranked the Big 10, heck even the Big 12 ahead the Pac 10 in overall conference strentgh. you are everything I hate about SEC football fans
  11. I don't even have to look at the map to know I'm getting the Bengals and Browns :(
  12. I'm so happy that the pissing match is between the SEC and Pac-10 this year.
  13. !!!!!!!!
  14. no one in North Dakota
  15. yeah, i was gonna say, his birth certificate puts his career in jeopardy. lol, that's a good one. Question for me now is whether he's a Hall of Famer. His candidacy is up in the air for me. Part of me recognizes that his counting stats are certainly beyond where they should be for a second baseman. The question then becomes how much of that is a product of the era that he played...if that even matters at all. Unquestionably yes. Check out Baseball References "Most Similar Hitters" list: 1. Yogi Berra (887) * 2. Carlton Fisk (881) * 3. Ivan Rodriguez (865) 4. Johnny Bench (854) * 5. Jim Rice (834) 6. Ron Santo (826) 7. Ryne Sandberg (825) * 8. Ted Simmons (821) 9. Andres Galarraga (819) 10. Ellis Burks (817)
  16. I was told there would be no math
  17. already in last place after one week
  18. just piggyback Z and Marshall. Pitch Z for 3 or 4 innings, Marshall for 3 or 4, then let the pen finish it up
  19. Frankly, I think Mizzou would flatten every other team in the Big Ten with the exception of Ohio State. That would be a fun game to watch. yeah, I'm not prepared to talk trash about Illinois until after Penn State plays them. I'm not very confident right now, even with the game at home.
  20. i really hope the Penn State defense gets tested before week 4. i don't want 2 more easy defensive games before facing Illinois.
  21. i dumped $30 on an official fitted cap last year and it's too small for me. totally sucks
  22. tons of teams are doing this. they call the play, go to the line, the coaches in the booth take a quick look at the defense to see if they want to audible, and the QB looks to the sideline to see if there is a new play call. Once you start noticing it it really drives you crazy though. Kansas did it on EVERY PLAY in their bowl game last year
  23. woops
  24. are the Missouri corners this bad?
  25. tons of time left
