    The Cardinals have a huge following throughout most of the Midwest thanks to KMOX carrying their games and having a huge reach throughout the US from the 1950s until about 2006. It's surprising how many Cardinals fans you'll find in those areas. they were also the only team west of the Mississippi River for decades

    Herby might be my favorite television sports personality. it's really nice having him on the radio every day, even though it's just noon-2. He's usually on with Chris Spielman His radio show is of national quality. He's got an encyclopedic knowledge of college sports. I don't know if they still have this line-up or not but they use to have Chris Speilman on right before Herbstreet's show. Speilman was horrific but the mouth breathers in Columbus love him. he's actually on WITH Spielman now. I swear it was Herb I was listening to today, the the website says it was Scott Torgersen and Mike Ricordati. Herbstreit/Spielman/Hooley is on 4-6 The beautiful thing is NO Jim Rome. We get Mike & Mike, The Herd, Scott/Mike, Mike Tirico, then Herb and the gang.

    I was listening to the local sports talk show with Herbstreit, and boy his he pissed about the fact that this player from tO$U had a DUI but isn't getting suspended. It's nice to hear a local show that doesn't just blow sunshine up the local team's collective rear ends

    Lee, Soriano and Ramirez need to figure out how to lay off that change up low and outside. If they flail away at that pitch, it'll be a long night

    Pat Hughes credits his radio abilities to the fact that he did years of broadcasting in the minor leagues with no color man. When you have to fill 3 hours of airtime on your own, I think it makes you a better pbp guy

    Actually, (and I can still say this for at least 8 more weeks) we've won the World Series more recently that you have. liar You mean the 8 more weeks part? almost every team in the league has won since the Cubs have. that particular jab doesn't carry much weight with Cubs fans anymore

    Thanks to last night's game, Soto's projected RBI total jumped from 94 to 97. 100 RBI from a) the catcher who b) always hit in the bottom half of the lineup would be seven kinds of awesome

    I expect absolute quiet, cavier, and a snifter of fine brandy. of course you react to the game when you watch, but not once this year have I watched a game and thought "that's it, the season is over" over one play. In fact, I pretty much expect them to win every game they play now, which is a welcome change over the past 15 or so years of watching the team.
