  1. the rest of them weren't inconclusive at all. the ball was clearly still touching his hand.
  2. 2nd rate equipment for a 2nd rate league.
  3. Any team that wears black tops with black pants automatically sucks.
  4. Hahaha one of my favorite schools. A school named after a state that is not in that state. On top of that it's not even a bordering state. I remember first learning about that when I was a kid and thinking it was funny. I use it as a trivia question sometimes. how do you use it as a trivia question sometimes? it's why the don't pull out-ski's are so successful
  5. according to wiki, indiana co, pa was founded in 1803.
  6. Hahaha one of my favorite schools. A school named after a state that is not in that state. On top of that it's not even a bordering state. I remember first learning about that when I was a kid and thinking it was funny. I use it as a trivia question sometimes. It's named that because the college is located in the city of Indiana. Nevermind then. Always assumed it was an campus for IU. Still find it funny though. Why would you name a city after a state that the city isn't in and then name the college the exact same as a major school in the state the city is named after? Probably because Indiana the city is older than Indiana the state.
  7. I'm not confident that Iowa will score a single point (on offense).
  8. hey, where'd roast go? I haven't seen him in this thread lately.
  9. elbow was down before the ball got to the 30
  10. i can't wait for this season to start! i predict we get 11 wins.
  11. I hope we beat NW this week just because then it forces all these losers to root for Ohio State. It's gonna be awesome.
  12. the only thing that could have made this better is if farve would have done a lambeau leap and then spit in the packer fans faces.
  13. A Rose Bowl appearance is that massive of a deal to you that it is one of 2 things you want to see in your sports life? You're out of your element here.
  14. this is ridiculous. ok you honestly don't see why Iowa fans would care about the respect their team is given? They have one really challenging game standing between them and an undefeated season, but a lack of respect is likely going to cost them a chance to play for a national title. ETA: even if they beat OSU convincingly, they probably won't jump Texas or the SEC champ. When's the last time an 8-0 Big Ten team was behind an undefeated MAC team in the polls? Or behind both an undefeated MAC and undefeated MWC team in the coaches poll? they're behind a MAC team? i must be looking a different poll than you are. (i'm assuming you meant WAC) here's the thing, though. a lot of the board's iowa fans are smart enough to know that "knowing how to win" is bogus and margin of victory matters. yes, florida and alabama have each had a close shave, but those have come against teams that are fairly good (arkansas, tennessee), not sun belt and i-aa teams. and iowa has been doing it nearly every game. clearly iowa is a good team and they're 9-0, but it's also hard for anybody to rank them ahead of teams like texas, alabama and florida who are winning easily most weeks against similar competition while iowa is winning nailbiters every week. link to us claiming we should be ahead of texas, bama, or florida?
  15. i think our goal this year is to see how many points a team can win by and still be lucky to win. so far we are at "at least eighteen" hopefully we catch a few breaks againts nw next week and sneak past them by 21 or so.
  16. Oregon would kill Iowa. i agree, it was their big win over Purdue that convinced me.
  17. why is oregon-USC blacked out on 360
  18. Aaron Corp. it's a known fact that 1 missed game at quarterback for USC has been the only injury in college football this season.
  19. People don't hate Iowa because they are undefeated. It's because they play in a weak conference, are over-rated and play a sissy non-conference schedule . They should be ranked about #14. Florida, Alabama, Texas and USC would crush them and about 9 other good teams would beat them easily. Texas fits all those criteria, Florida doesn't play anyone non conference and USC lost to freaking Washington. And Iowa would destroy all those team, because I said so. Iowa State, Arkansas State, Arizona and a bunch of Big Ten patsies. LOL at Iowa's schedule. according to sagarin (i know, i know, not as reliable as nsbb's voice of reason), iowa has a tougher schedule than florida, alabama, texas, boise state, tcu, cincinnati, and lots and lots and lots and lots of other teams. computers are biased.
  20. also, this thread rocks.

  22. Kenney mentioned that at somepoint the Cubs will be moving to their own network, similar to nesn, yes, etc.
  23. :-)) Yeah, lets have some more 70-7 games in a half empty stadium, those are great.
  24. I don't think there's a chance it'd be half empty. If Ole MIss/Texas Tech in a meaningless game could pull 88,000, then Florida/Ga Tech for a chance to advance to the semi-finals of the playoffs would draw that many or more. Bowls are events. It's the final game of the year, it's an exotic locale, it "means something" even if it really doesn't. Do you think a lot of NFL fans spend money to go see their team on the road in the divisional playoffs? Outside of the BCS championship game, the bowls have no meaning. If the bowls were tied into a championship run, they would immediately gain far more relevance than they currently have. Most bowl sites right now are only partially full because they don't mean anything. Sorry, but the Rose Bowl has meaning. The Rose Bowl, Big Ten, and Pac Ten wouldn't go for it.
