  1. Call me an idiot if you want, but hear me out. Sure I'd obviously rather not see Izturis out there, but as I said earlier, it is inevitable that he is going to start every now and then. Taking today's lineup into consideration I would rather have Izturs hitting 2nd, surrounded by Soriano and Lee compared to having a 6-7-8-9 of Jones, Bowen, Izturis, and Lilly. Today is as good as day as any to put Izturis in for Theriot with Oswalt on the mound.
  2. Jones is your new regular CF...better get used to it. I'm not going to get too upset about it yet. I think this is Jock's last chance. If Lee can get some power back, and Ramirez, Soriano, DeRosa keep playing well, Jones will have a chance to be a productive player at the bottom of the lineup. He's not as bad as he's been. If he snaps out of it with some regular playing time I have no problem with him hitting 7th.
  3. If Izturis had a big day every time we bitched about him being in the lineup he'd be batting .600 Yeah, oh well. I just sit back and enjoy the bitch sessions that ensue. He's on the team, its inevitable he is going to start every now and then. I particularly love the "Cubs are guaranteed to lose" posts that usually follow.
  4. Big day for Izturis.... This usually happens when people whine about the lineup.
  5. if he does i'd have somebody ready in case the bob in pittsburgh shows up. he's been really shaky lately I'd rather see Weurtz. me too, when demp comes back, my order of RH relievers: Marmol Dempster Wuertz Howry Add in Wood ( ) and Gooz and that's an amazing bullpen. (ohman can stay) Can someone point to me the ML success that Guzman has had that convinces people he'd be a stud in the bullpen? I haven't seen it.
  6. I think "wild" is a bit dramatic. What works for you Webster? Excited? Jumpy? Animated? Wound up?
  7. Chris Burke's a good guy. Played with and against him for many years. Doesn't mean I care what his favorite movie is though.
  8. Fans are idiots at judging fly balls. Yeah, it wasn't even close. I don't get why people get so worked up about it. When you are at the game, and it's bases loaded, you are going to react to anything put in play. I don't. Especially not on a lazy flyball to the OF. I wouldn't say I get worked up about it, its just funny that everytime there is a ball in there a certain percentage of the crowd goes wild.
  9. Not really, both looked to be about right down the middle.
  10. Lets see if Soriano can make some contact this time...
  11. Lee needs to pick it up a bit and Ramirez needs to stay steady as well. I'm just sitting here thinking, if that happens, having Jacque in the 7th hole might actually turn out fairly well. I don't think Jacque is as bad as he's been this year. Maybe having him lower in the order and the pressure off will allow him to at least be a productive player in the lower half of the lineup.
  12. Zambrano...your a good hitter, for a PITCHER. If your up 3-1, take a pitch my friend.
  13. Several of what looks like to be burnt. dead, brown grass patches, mostly in CF. It looks like the outfield has had an acne breakout.
  14. It happens everywhere. I know. It certainly wasn't a Wrigley specific comment at all.
  15. And the crowd collectively wets their pants on the routine fly to LF. I hate that.
