I'd rather not be the stereotypical "message board name dropper." That wasn't my intent with the post. I have worked in baseball (not currently) for a couple magazines and worked for a minor league team. Guillen was not a treat to be around. There really isn't much more to be said honestly.

    Speaking from the standpoint of someone who has had to deal with Guillen on multiple occassions in the past, he's not worth it. He definitely effects a clubhouse and pretty much everyone else around him.

Griffey apparently made a "throat slashing" jesture towards the booth while crossing home plate after hitting a HR.

    Don't overlook the job Lilly did tonight. I know he gave 3 at the end, but he pitched very well. I'll take that at the back end of the rotation.

    How long till "badnews" stops by and tells us that his ball doesn't move? it is just an optical illusion created by TBS/WGN/CSN. All kidding aside, he looks decent. We'll see how he holds up though. Nothing to get too excited about yet.

    Don't challenge Hank! Is this the first time Harold Reynolds has been in the booth for TBS? I've just seen him in studio before.

    He's been pretty good since June really. 4-3 49.1 IP 3.84 ERA 24/19 K/BB He hasn't had much support this month. He's 0-2 with really good numbers. Would be nice for the Cubs to have a bit of an offensive breakout today before heading into Milwaukee.

    Trying to figure out if DHing is a good sign or a bad sign that he might come back tonight. It could be good in that Lou doesn't want him to tire so he can play a game tonight. It could be bad because they are expecting him to rehab for a couple of days and are telling him to worry about only hitting today. Tonight? Seriously? There is no way the Cubs organization would try to play him in 2 games in the same day after being out for 6 weeks. Everything I have seen points to a thursday return. Small chance of possibly wednesday. *Edit* Just saw Lou's comments. I still say it would never happen though.

    Never underestimate the power of the magic Cardinals pixie dust. I wouldn't at all be shocked to see the Cards right in the thick of things all season. Yes, they SHOULD fall off, but will they? This pixie dust crap got old a long time ago.

    Haha... On the postgame wrapup Vasgersian just said "The Triple-A Portland Beavers were just totally outclassed this weekend in St. Louis." I doubt that will go over real well.

    Greene was pinch hit for last night in the top of the 9th with the tying run on second base. He was replaced by a rookie.

    Have you been there before? Personally I thought the same way as you until I went there. What a dump. Cramped dark narrow concourses, extremely steep upper deck, cramped seats. So not all that different from Wrigley? Eye of the beholder.

    Bob Feller is a turd. About 20 years ago he was in town participating in a local celeb baseball game before the AAA all star game. He spent the whole time bitching about being in it and forced to share the field with disc jockeys. One of the AAA guys got fed up and put on street clothes pretending to be a local guy. He took him deep on the first pitch and Feller left the field cussing.
