  1. I'm kind of annoyed that people keep talking about Howard's search for another team having such a negative impact on the Magic when they are 20-11.
  2. The east playoffs are setting up to be pretty tough, even in the first rounds. The Bulls and Heat would currently play the Knicks or the Celtics and the 3-6 seeds all are good teams. I wouldn't be surprised if the Heat and Bulls don't even see each other. Just hope the Heat would be the team getting upset.
  3. What's the counter argument? How is this team better then last years team? The heat are going to shut down are only superstar and that is that. You can't have one guy do it all. Even Jordan realized that. The list of teams given in the past 10 years that have won a title or been to the title with one super star. Plus I don't really see how your claim that the Bulls have or will do squat in the playoffs. They already have and they would likely beat all but one team in the playoffs. I don't really see how that makes them some playoff failure. They barely beat the [expletive] pacers last years. Are you talking about the Mavs of last year? Dirk is a monster and couldn't be defended because of his height. The Heat mauled rose. Do you honestly think this team will beat the Heat (if healthy) again? And if you do why? If the Bulls barely beat the Pacers than the Heat barely beat the Bulls. The Bulls blew a large late lead and lost in OT to the Heat. A couple of possessions go differently and it's a 3-2 Bulls series lead. Every game the teams have played in their current forms have been close. If I had to pick now I'd say the Heat are favorites but it's not some automatic win for them. I could easily it being some 7 game toss up of a series.

  5. What's the point of saying the same thing over and over again without even attempting to refute counter arguments?
  6. I was working today so I missed this. What the hell?
  7. Rasheed might have been the only true star on that Detroit team, but everyone knows that Billups, Rip, Prince, and Ben Wallace rounded out one of the most complete starting fives in recent memory. I agree about the Spurs and Mavs. You're going to have to hope that the role players catch fire and as evident by last year, it can happen. I don't see how the Bulls can't when with a super star in Rose and then a line up of very good players, Deng, Boozer, Noah and even old Rip and a very good bench. They are already better than all but one team with that line-up and I still say they are evenly matched with that one team.
  8. Pistons, Spurs and Mavericks all have won titles recently with one or no superstars. The Cavs and Magic have recently made the finals with one. I don't think that argument means too much. The Bulls also just made the ECF. I think they are a fine playoff team.
  9. Yeah, I'm not sold on Chris Kaman going to Miami and making them some unstoppable force.
  10. I still love Luol Deng.
  11. Our own geriatric is carving it up. Who? Mike James!
  12. Our own geriatric is carving it up.
  13. 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Boozer in the first half.
  14. The lack of making open jumpshots is really annoying.
  15. They have a win against the coolest team in the nation. North Dakota State is not cool.
  16. Well, since Iowa isn't good at basketball that would make sense.
  17. The top 10 in the BIG getting in would be ok with me.
  18. If this happens I kind of want the Cubs to win the World Series while playing at the Cell.
  19. There are worse things than a 6-3 road trip. Hopefully Rose's back is ok, that's all that I really care about.
  20. Pretty much. Annoying but meaningless.
  21. 1 point since January 20th. That's pretty impressive futility.
  22. I want to get on the Lin bandwagon but he plays for the Knicks so I can't do it. Maybe if they play the Heat in the playoffs.
  23. These guys blow too.
  24. There is a difference between tanking and playing the regular season differently than the playoffs. For example, Dallas was absuing the Spurs 2 weeks ago and Pop put the second unit in the game at the end of the 3rd. They started the fourth and got San Antonio back into the game. Pop left them in for the entire fourth quarter and OT period. He wasnt tanking the game but he was coaching it differently than in the playoffs. Giving his second unit a chance to play in a big spot, sending a message to Duncan/Parker/RJ; whatever it was he wouldnt do it in a playoff series. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201201290DAL.html That I do understand, and starters are going to play more minutes in the playoffs too. I was just contesting the fact that NBA teams don't try hard.
  25. Whatever you think about the Bulls chances vs. the Heat, their overall record means pretty much nothing. I feel like even the smartest people here have a blindside when it comes to analyzing other sports because they're so ingrained in baseball. You can't apply the same reasoning you do with baseball that you do to basketball. The Bulls going 3-1 during the regular season vs. the Heat meant nothing last year. NBA teams(with a few exceptions, the Bulls being one of them) simply don't bring it on every night during the regular season. The NBA playoffs are completely different than the regular season. I'm not sure I buy the validity of this. It seems like a cliche NBA stereotype to me. I mean, sure, lottery teams tank all the time and you can tell most of their game involves one on one play and stat padding, and top teams don't always have a ton of energy against lower tier teams but when top teams play each other they bring it against each other in my opinion.
