  1. I'd be in favor if the cost is low and we can get Diekman or Kela too
  2. It's Drury and McKinney and potentially more going to Toronto.
  3. DBacks acquired Matt Andriese from the Rays and then DFA'd former Cubs trade target Randall Delgado.
  4. The in-laws live in Reading and surprised me with Reading Phillies tickets yesterday for my birthday. Got to see them play New Hampshire, so I got to see Vlad Jr in the flesh. Dude is massive. Made some nice plays in the field too. The top three hitters in their order were Bichette's kid, Biggio's kid and Vlad Jr so I felt pretty old. Great ballpark though. At one point I was getting beer and Phillies 2017 first rounder Adam Haseley just walked by me me to go into the clubhouse. Definitely an older park ha.
  5. Our peeress leader deserves a shiny new Clayton Richard on this day. I really wanted an Eovaldi. Same. I figured he was ours if we really wanted him. And the return wasn't that great.
  6. Our peeress leader deserves a shiny new Clayton Richard on this day.
  7. So is this similar to a Maples and Vosler package? A little less considering the int'l money? Trying to see if this is about what we could expect to give up for Britton. Seemed like the Mets didn't get a great return but the O's aren't exactly well run either.
  8. Duensing seems like a nice guy and was great last year but how much longer do we have to watch him go out there this year before we DFA him? The phantom injury DL trip didn't work.
  9. Yeah and at the very least get some stability in the pen the next couple of weeks and then do something else on the 31st.
  10. Chavez has a 1.91 ERA on the road and has an ERA of 2.68 since the beginning of May. Has a 3.75 xFIP and a 4.17 K/BB ratio #randomstats
  11. A useful cheap middle reliever who can start in an emergency. Sure.
  12. I'm just thinking out loud. Albertos was very recently our top prospect and and is still very young and has potential. He's having a very forgettable year. Because of that are we saying he is now actually useless as a trade chip/prospect?
  13. Interesting trade. Going off this then, would something like Albertos for Tyson Ross and Kirby Yates be something people would be willing to do?
  14. I'm gonna assume that Clint Frazier and possibly Billy McKinney are in any deal. Maybe Chance Adams. And would the Yankees then demote Andujar or is he included in a deal too? They have the prospects necessary to make it happen......
  15. Q has a 3.00 ERA and decent peripherals if you take out his first 4 starts. I haven't been worried about him. Is Hendricks' velo ok? He had a rough patch there but was electric in his last start.
  16. I'm kinda shocked this is the first all star game for Markakis. He had some great years for the Orioles.
  17. Javy and Willy in as starters
  18. Bad couple days for former Cubs in KC. Hammel leads the league in hits allowed, earned runs allowed and losses. and:
  19. Rosters announced tonight. I'd think Baez, Contreras and Lester would be locks. This time last year, we were 2 games under .500 and Wade Davis was our only All Star.
  20. This seems like an odd trade Jackson is having a bad year but is still useful and cheap. Gearrin is a useful middle reliever. Bahr was the Giants' 5th rounder last year and has some good numbers in the minors thus far.
  21. I enjoy this "let's see how many relievers we can get in the pen this season" routine. Haven't seen anything like it since that great 2013 season. Who remembers that: Alex Burnett Alberto Cabrera Hisanori Takahashi Eduardo Sanchez Zach Putnam Chang-yong Lim Kameron Loe Henry Rodriguez (not that one) Brooks Raley Shawn Camp Michael Bowden all pitched out of the pen that year at some point?
  22. Well, horsefeathers. And continuing his trend of not making it a full season....
